Isla Mujueres Day Trip, Bumper Carts 9/2 OK This would make 28 counting me and Gary, Dave and Nikki, and Donny and Donna. At 4 to a Golf Cart we are looking at 7 golf carts to start!!! Not to scare anyone off of joining us, Gary was teasing about the naked business (don't want to land in jail). Bumper Carts as we so lovingly call it is because even with the governors rigged (rubber bands/southern engineering), so we can go as fast as possible around the Isla Mujueres (Island of Women), last year Noah had the fastest cart and kept bumping us from behind. We basically walk to the Ferry (about 5 blocks tops), catch a ride to the Island. Fill ice chests with beer. Go Tequila shot bar hopping, drive around and see the sites (there are small ruins on the island), and hurricane destroyed resorts that have been untouched for several years, and a AWESOME place to stop and have lunch, drinks and use of their private pool overlooking the beach. Dave is our Tequila Connoisseur! Talk about smooooth stuff. There of course are vendors and shops for souvenirs and it just makes for a fun day trip! The more the merrier!!! Sidenote: It is a small island per se, and the policia seem to ignore us tourists pretty much! There is an overlook where you can watch zip liners and was it an "ice cream vendor" I forget? Also, was I dreaming or actually remember coming out of one of the bars and had to retrieve our ice chest at some point!
