Actually, the letter is from Apple, but it is regarding my future stay at Sens.

To: Clients Holdin Reservations at Oasis Sens

Description: Effective travel August 1st 2014 and onward. Oasis Sens is converting to Spicy & Enhanced Adult Concept.

Description: Minimum age requirement will now be 21 years of age and older. The hotel will also adapt an optional topless bathing area at the Sunset Pool location along with Sultry Nightly entertainment at the Kinky Club Bar. There will be no change to room amenities.

    * An exciting, sexy and diverse culinary experience
*Sultry nightly entertainment including our "Kinky Bar"
    * Hotels' exclusive Pirate NIght on board the Captain Hook for an adult only evening, once a week.
*A fun and sexy activitity program to include yoga and Pilates, pool and beach games, water activities, DJ parties, dance lessons, contests, and more....
*An adult environment designed for playful adults that want to enjoy a combination of a great resort, topless optional pool, fantastic beach, full service Spa and very complete culinary program.

If you require further assistance regarding this change, you may contact Specialty Services at (800) 365-2775, Extension 5282

    ********* ************** ************* ***

I wonder if the change will be obvious to how it is operating now, to how it will operate starting on Aug 1st? There really doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest out there on this hotel, which surprises me, and does worry me a little. The reviews, however, have been pretty good on this hotel for quite some time, now. Most of the negative reviews seem to be written by people who are upset by inconsequencial (by my standards) things, or it sounds like they had really bad luck, or had one bad thing happen to them in the beginning, and decided right away to not like the resort. Well, that is what I am hoping, anyway.
A lot of things that people complain about could happen (and have happened to us) at ANY resort, including the more expensive places.
You can get a room with bad air, you don't like the food, the front desk is nasty and not helpful (can't say this has ever happened to me, although just about every resort out there has reviews about the dreaded front desk people) stuff gets stolen out of the room (also never happened to us)
mini fridge doesn't work, toilet doesn't flush, and on and on and on.

Count on an honest and thorough review when I get back from our October vacation! Anybody going between now and then --especially after Aug. 1st, I'd REALLY appreciate your feedback on the place! :fish:

That sounds exactly like what oasis viva was supposed to be.
I fell for it and booked last May.
There was nothing sexy at all about viva.
I have 3 free days to use at any oasis hotel but, don't want
to risk another partially blown vacation.

I mentioned I'd heard rumours a while back, but can now confirm that the latest from Senior Oasis Management is that the concept previously at Viva will be transferred to Sens.

Let's remember that with Viva they didn't exactly give up on the 'enhanced adults only concept' they sold the property.

    LOL!

I'm sure that as with most resorts, the atmosphere will have a lot to do with the people who are there, at any given time.

I am not expecting a lot in October. But I didn't want to spend a lot, and I wanted an all adult, in Cancun. I hope our room is fine, our toilet works, and the a/c is good enough. It doesn't have to blast, but I want to be cool enough while getting ready for dinner, and for sleeping. It would be nice if the food tastes reasonably good. I'd like there to be nice drinks -- that is pretty important to me. Doesn't even need to be top shelf booze, just decent drinks, not too sugary/syrupy on the blender drinks.

A lot can be overlooked if the place is rockin' and fun. I'm almost 52, but I don't like quiet, fancy, boring resorts.

I do expect a very nice beach, and the pools look awesome, so I hope I'm not disappointed there. The pictures are pretty much why I picked this place. We've been staying in Playa or vicinity for a while -- and I really missed having a pool with the ocean view!

Whatever happens, I'm sure it will be better than a week at work. :icon_lol:

    prices...

Well I just checked prices(on the main site for each resort), and between the 2 there is a $800usd difference in a weeks stay between TTR and Sens. Not sure, but a almost a $1K difference in a week, much bigger pool(s), a killer beach and crystal clear ocean, and a much better looking resort would make me give it a try.

For 1 week staying prime time in March 14th-21st

    Destination: Cancun Hotel: Oasis Sens
    Room Type: STANDARD
Cost Per Adult: $973 Total: $1946

    Temptation Resort & Spa Cancun
Deluxe Garden (Max. Cap. of 3 in room)
    Totals
    $2,776.20
