We bought our membership cause I like white towels....

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the red towel the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the white towel you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember, all I'm offering is the truth—nothing more.

    TTR meets Matrix :)

I know what you're thinking, 'cause right now I'm thinking the same thing. Actually, I've been thinking it ever since I got here: Why, oh why, didn't I keep the RED Towel?

Haha We are from Vegas , never gamble more than we can afford to lose… my white towel actually is a magic carpet that flies my hungover ass to the beach and then a genie butler appears with coffee. Its incredible.

LEts see if I spend about $200 per week more spread out over 24 years than the members I will spend the total of about $5,000 total more than members did. Of course I use my money for the 25 years and take many other vacations with that money to non time share or membership resorts which are far better than you can find in any time share. (all inclusive or not does not matter). Plus worse case I can buy any color towel I want and nobody will object to my choice of towels.

So now you are paying a ridiculous interest rate on monthly payments on a horribly depreciating asset? On average you lose 50% the by the time the ink dries.

Our stay at TTR this year for the room totaled $1260 (rounded off and not counting tips). If I were paying $100 a month for a RCI timeshare (who BTW are the most complained about by far) on top of what I paid nightly as a member @ $135 x 8= $1080 + $1200 (the yearly payment)= $2280 for 2014.

So, as a member, Ive paid an extra $1200 this year for a ocean view and Grey Goose Vodka.

What if for some reason we cant make it next year? Im $1200 farther in the hole.

In the end, all you are really doing is paying upfront for future hotel stays. The problem with having a timeshare at TTR is it's only a portion and doesnt cover the AI cost.

Id never buy something that someone wants to sell so bad, that they start at $40,000, and in the end are willing to sell for $6,000.

Like I said, have fun with it, but for us, we look at it from a financial standpoint, and you wont find one reputable financial adviser who would recommend it. There's no way you can slice it or dice it to make it a financial plus.

I met a member 2 years ago that bought the membership so he could drink the premiere "Captain Morgan". I said, "guess what I'm drinking?" (No I am not a premiere member and yes I had to prove it to him.) He was NOT happy!

The best part about it is if you don't like it, don't buy it. I think some of you are applying some "abstract" math to articulate a negative ROI. Thing is not everyone gets the same deal. I can say some are way off. We have "recovered" half of our initial capital "investment" in the first year but hey, We didn't buy it to make money…
Seems to be such a sensitive topic, ya know I lost money this last weekend at Mandalay Bay here in Las Vegas after limo service to haul our party around, on the tables , in the Clubs (line pass, table, bottle service). But We Had Fun!! :)
Entertainment isn't an investment to me, and I've dropped more in a weekend than my entire TTR membership cost. If you have doubts simply don't buy it, there's plenty of fun there for everyone right?

So was it the egg or chicken that was first?
    Round and around we go.

Always amazing how membership strikes such a nerve with non-members.

You can make your membership work for you that is the other reason we bought in - last trip cost only flight for $835.00 and this up coming trip in 70 days is the same got flight this time for $821.00 round trip for both of us. Working on getting a charge card that will give me points to use on flight so hope next trip in May will only cost $300.00 or less for the both of us for the week. So looking forward to enjoying.
