They are the best margaritas on the resort!! We'll swing by when we check in and get one to go usually!
The absolute best mudslides, in fact the best drinks period are at the top of the stairway. The 'Stairway to perks Heaven'. *2nd time in a month able to work into a post, a reference to the greatest band. Woohoo!
they gave us a electronic coupon we had to call in and set up about a month out for 2/1 airfare. And we have another for 25% off the next flights…through world pass. Now it is a bit of a pain in the ass call, wait, email, send image of your "coupon" receive flight options for your time and confirm but if you can spend a day or so going back and forth the savings are real.
What do you guys that are members do about trip insurance? Air Fare looks ok to rebook if necessary but our premier referral email states: Restrictions/Cancellation Policy/Refunds · Refund: No refund in case of cancellation, early check out, natural disaster, no shows, and delayed or cancelled flights. · The initial one night deposit is not refundable in case of cancellation. With elderly mothers, etc we never know when we might need to reschedule/cancel a trip. Whenever we have booked through Expedia, we have always purchased their trip insurance. Thanks, Firm
We have actually had to reschedule when my husband had open heart surgery 2 weeks before we were to arrive. They just held our money as a credit to use when we rebooked at a later date. We always insure our flight and medical insurance. Which we used to recover our cancelled flight. On one trip our friends traveling with us had to be med evaced out as he had a heart attack at the resort. They gave us credit for the 4 days they missed. I have to say Premier is very good to members in those situations.
From a financial standpoint, timeshares are horrible. People shouldnt take it personally. It just is. We have really, really good friends who are members. Kinda like politics. We agree to disagree. Still love 'em. Also, we just returned from TTR for 8 nights @ $157 per night through Alpharooms. Our member friends paid $135 a night. We paid $176 more for the 8 nights than members who coughed up anywhere from $6k to (GASP) $25000!!! Thats right, we met a couple this trip who paid $25k. Holy sheet!! Im not ready to fork over a minimum of $6 grand for a $176 difference. Not trying to convince either way. Thats just my 2 cents.
Well, that 6 grand is spread out. Lets say 175 nights, and that's split between 115 and 135 evenly. 175 nights your at $21,865 + 5k (6k gets you a free week, doesn't make sense to pay it) so 26,865, even at 6k you would be the same or less since you get a free week with it you would subtract out. Even at 157/night(plus tax?, and even if you can get that rate every stay forever) x 175 nights your at 27,475. That doesn't even count all the room upgrades and all the other member perks at the resort which do have some monetary value. For instance we got an amazing ocean view room overlooking the sexy pool. Perfect room really, and it was the free upgrade from the garden ones. Plus all the other stuff to sweeten the deal. It can make sense if you are going to go often for the long haul. Also with the RCI and trades if you were going to go to somewhere other than TTR and hotels were more like 300 bucks a night and not all inclusive, you pay 100 bucks for the trade or whatever it is for an entire week vs 2100. Savings add up quick then.
