It happens to men too... First, I have personally had roofies. In my younger (RE: stupider) days, my friends & I would actually take very small doses. When you know you're taking it, and it's a very small amount, and you're with a group you can & do trust, it's pretty much like a really good drunk buzz. Of course, being young & dumb, I have also overdone it a couple times, and what you describe sounds exactly like you got hit. And contrary to popular belief, you don't always completely black out, and you don't always completely forget everything. Especially if you started drinking a lot of water... would've diluted it so you didn't completely go out. I had a very good guy friend get roofied out one night. Some guy decided he'd have a good chance with my buddy's wife if he could get my buddy out of the picture for the night. Fortunately, my group looks out for each other and when the a$$hole tried to make his move, our group swooped on him like flies on sh*t, and ruined his little plan. Sorry to hear you got hit, on purpose or accidentally. Glad you're ok & glad it didn't ruin your trip!
In May, Jamie and I were partying with friends. After the DJ quit, we made our way to the Sports Pool with our drinks. Within a half hour or less, Jamie seemed to go from buzzed to no muscle or speech control...we had to carry her out of the pool and back to the room. Our friends suggested that someone dropped something in her drink. Jamie just doesn't get that way...she wasn't doing shots at all. There was a creepy single guy stalker who she had talked to earlier who was lurking all night...and was in the pool. It would have been easy to walk by her drink on the pool ledge and lift the Bubba Mug lid and slip something in. Don't ever let your drink out of your sight and don't accept one from someone you don't know. I've always been skeptical of stories like this, but I've been out drinking with Jamie too many times and that was weird. She gets louder and mischievous when she gets drunk...she doesn't just go quiet and limp from one moment to the next.
I'll take this as a warning. I use a covered cup day and night. Will make sure I keep it in my sights on this trip. Too easy to leave it at bar, go dancing then drink from it. I was spiked when I was in my 20's, dreadful thing!!!
All day drinking and trying to pace yourself.....these symptoms can still happen. Drinking water to rehydrate can actually slow down the metabolism of the alcohol. It eventually catches up b
Being drugged can happen everywhere whether its Mexico or near your home, don't be naive. It happens to men and to women. It happened to John a few years ago. People will hit the guy with the drug to get him out of the picture (think about it) so the girl is more available. With so many people at the resort , it can and does happen there, you need to protect yourself at patio and at home. Use covered drinks, get your own drinks and if you left your drink somewhere just get another.
Same here. Recreational use for me too. Sounds like thats what he got. Hell, I had it done to me at a bar in Austin. Guy saw me talking to his ex. I saw him with his hand on my bottle. Didnt think ENOUGH of it. I was screwed. Way too much drinking for the amount he slipped me. His cock blocking efforts worked well though.
Agree, I bet someone did it for kicks. Have had a friend that it happened to and when they confronted the person later, they said we thought it would be fun
Thank God So happy u r ok. That is great advice,,,we will be on Roofie alert..although people say I'm ROOFED 24/7 anyway
