We'll be there 8/4-8/8. Would like to have some good alcohol in the room, so as not to interrupt my alcohol consumption. Can I bring bottles in my checked baggage or would people recommend buying it there? I'd prefer bringing it with me if possible. Any suggestions are welcomed... Thanks in advance!:ernaehrung015:
They have a duty free store in the customs area! You can buy it there! :wink3: Or they have a liquor store across the street from TTR! :aktion033::aktion033:
clarify what is "good" alcohol? ….the stuff served at the resort hmmm premier members get a step up and i don't think Walmart stocks quality stuff anyway.
I don't know what good stuff you want, to keep yourself happy, in my case it is whiskey. I found they have red lable, not the black one which is my regular drink. But red on the rocks worked great for me. By day 2 all bartenders knew what i drink, and my drinks are always ready as soon as i approach the bar. I am very impressed with their memory, they serve so many people but they still give attention to everyone's need. They definitely deserve good tip for making our trip memorable. Lots of people complaint that drinks are watered down, but i say, if you want to drink strong stuff, they why do you order girly drinks lol Order pretty much anything with soda or on the rocks and you are set. The moment you go for fancy stuff, you will get lots of sugary additives.
Wife loves tequila...1800/Major/Espolon/Patron or better...not that she's a snob, but she likes it straight, so these brands go down smoother. As for me...Greygoose/Crown/Johnny/Dewars...on the rocks. But please believe that I will be killing whatever they're serving at TTR...I'm drinking like that shit's going out of style, but don't be alarmed...I'm a happy drunk! :mnm:
You can carry a bottle each (new, sealed) on the plane in your checked luggage. It's way cheaper to buy booze at home than in the surprisingly expensive duty free or the liquor stores down in Cancun. We'll normally bring a bottle or two for room shots with friends. They do have crown but it's premier members only.
