Ok so we leave in 13 days and I'm so excited I cant stand it but I did have just a few questions I was hoping someone could help me with.

    1. I was looking at the weather and it says the feels like temperature down there right now is 46c which is like 114f, Is that for real, I new it was warmer there than it is here but geez, I cant even imagine being somewhere that it feels like its 114 degrees outside.

    2. Dress code for the restaurants for men and woman. I want to make sure I pack us with everything we need and I've found conflicting info on what we can and cant wear into the restaurants. Shorts/no shorts, Jeans/ No jeans, collared shirts, no sandals (does that go for women too). I just want to make sure that I don't get there and find out that I cant have dinner at one of the restaurants because I didn't bring the right attire. I know this question is going to be kind long to answer but I really do appreciate all of the help you can give me.

The clothing question is only a real issue because I've started looking and after we pack all of our playtime stuff and theme wear, I'm looking at limited space for the regular clothing.

I can only speak to the weather, as I've never been to TTR yet either. We will see you on the 9th! Anyways, believe it. It's HOT! We are bringing our Bubba Kegs per everyone's advice and plan to stay in that water every day!

From where are you coming? We are in a very dry climate so the temperature is not so bad but the humidity almost kills us the first day or so. And then it's all good.

As for the clothes, I have a pair of sandals with closed toes that I wear. I refuse to pack real shoes and socks for Cancun. I brought a couple of pairs of khaki pants and button down shirts and was fine for dinner. We saw people in jeans but nobody in shorts when we were in the Asian and Italian restaurants. The seafood restaurant was being re-roofed when we were there last summer.

Hahahaha! Oh yes...the dreaded luggage space problem. Sure seems like a few skimpy outfits and some G-strings shouldn't take up so much space huh? LOL. To be honest....I think it's best to pack him a button up shirt, closed toed shoes, and pants. I say this because it's really hit and miss at some of the restaurants. I've seen people turned away at the door for shorts, then go inside and see men wearing shorts. I'm guessing they had some cash to pass to the right person. Not sure. But better safe than sorry. Seems to me they are more picky with the men than the women.

As far as the temp, remember there will also be the ocean breeze, but it will still be hot. Hats & sunscreen are your BFF. And, of course, cold drinks. :)

Sandals only applies to men, and even then, we saw them in the Asian that claims no shorts/sandals. (Saw shorts there too.) From what we experienced, it's more of the condition of the clothing than what it actually is. Re: if you show up in cutoffs & flip flops & a wife beater, probably not going to get into the asian, italian, or seafood. However if you're in a nice pair of say, khaki shorts with tasteful man-sandals (lol), and a light button down or polo shirt, you'll most likely be fine. They didn't appear to be overly strict about mens dress code while we were there. For women, as long as no naughty bits are showing (and no wet clothes, ie: swimwear, cover up, etc.), you're good to go. As far as jeans, we saw a pair in the asian. But honestly, if it's 114, do you really want to wear jeans? Also, we were there in Dec, and it wasn't very crowded, it's possible that they may be more strict if the resort if more full. That may be something you want to ask in the July Roll Call. Some of the regulars may be able to help you better. Also, if you go to the actual TTR website, I believe they list the "actual" dress code for each restaurant. But as I (and many others on here) have said, it can vary on how strict they actually are with it.

    Hope this helps!

Have fun & have a drink (or 10!) for us!

We were there in May when it was a full house and the dress code didn't seem to be heavily enforced. Like Kristen said, as long as you look nice you should be okay. We saw shorts and nice flip-flops at the Italian restaurant. Plus, I would imagine that they would be even more tolerant of such during the really hot weather.

Thanks so much for your help guys, I'll find a way to fit it all in, he might just not have as wide a selection as he would like.

I did the old Chinese laundry trick with my clothes so Blondie had more room for her sexy shoes. Yes, it's humid but stuff would dry overnight if I hung it out on the balcony. Especially light weight clothes. I bought gauze pants, shirts and shorts for the trip. Cool, comfy and stylish.

And that exactly is my problem. The theme dress and toys take up a large portion of space but I think I may have to get rid of some shoes. Now I just have to figure out which ones I can live without.
