We just booked for the week after Xmas to New Years. Prices for TTR show 780 usd a night. That is on multiple websites and some have it sold out. We ended booking thru alpha rooms for about 2200 for 6 nights. Still expensive considering some of the costs mentioned here.
I am a travel agent. The travel industry (Hotels, Airlines and Cruise Lines) understands that July, August, Easter vacation and Christmas vacation are Prime Time months in which they have a captive audience. Therefore the price to travel becomes extremely during those times. No matter where you travel it can be VERY expensive between Christmas and New Years. Unfortunately its just a sad fact that consumers have to deal with.
Thank you for the info; I get it but there is expensive for TTR, and then there is ridiculous. 800 a night for a three star hotel is the latter.
Prices always go up (Mexico not just TTR) the week before Christmas. Prob bc kids are out of school and the tourism industry knows people are at their mercy!
American Express travel also has 6 nights for $2200, not including airfare. Did the alpha rooms, not British validity of discount thing ever get figured out?
That only applies to Hedonism Jamaica. Isn't enforced at Temptations. Have used alpharooms successfully along with many others.
