omg so I know this is off topic a little. me and my friend went to Rivera Maya and she had never been to Mexico before so she didn't know the sun is more powerful as it is closer to the equator. Anyways she thought it was a good idea to use baby oil....uhh. I explained to her again BAD IDEA!! She didn't listen needless to say she got burnt to a crisp...literally. she had to go to the doctor when we got back and she had 2nd degree burns!!

It generally has to do with the pressing method and pureness of the coconut oil. You want expeller or cold pressed (same idea just different wording that will show up on labels) - otherwise, they use chemicals to strip the oil out so defeats the natural idea!

I actually buy mine at GNC or Vitamin World or Shoppe most often because they tend to have sales. Whole Foods also has it but we know how those prices are! We followed Paleo nutrition guidelines for a while and also Whole30/WholeLife so there was a LOT of research into coconut oil!! :banghead: :huepfen013: :)

Used it once at a water park when I was 16 and fell asleep for about 30 minutes or so and FRIED MYSELF!! Ankles swelled and peeled sheets (literally) of skin off of myself. If you are light skinned not a good idea!! It does smell Great!!!! Hee hee

Thanks for the information, taking grandchildren to Big Cedar this week and going to give it a try, mainly on tanning this trip. Do you use virgin or extra virgin?
