2nd Trip, What's Better, Worse, or a Wash... Trip Report

Sadly, we're home from our second trip. It really sucks, but we all have to come home some time I guess. Anyway, we took a year off between our trips, but I figured it would be to cool to do a trip report from a comparison standpoint.

What was better:
1. The music
2. The crowd
3. The room
4. The premier deck.

Both times we've gone we used a friend's premier week. But last time they didn't have a dedicated area just for the premier members complete with a bar. Now, before you say "sure, if you're a premier member it's good" - realize that all that extra seating keeps the premier people out of the main seating, thus MORE seating for everyone. And the premier bar makes it easier for EVERYONE to get a drink, while giving something back to those who pay thousands in a membership fee. Cool.

The crowd was MUCH better for us. We met some great people the first time, people we still talk to and hang out with, but this time we met people we really partied with. But more over, it was busier and seemed like there was a definitive lack of douchebaggery. Also got to hit a Boobs Cruise. Last day, but still awesome. Worth your $$$ if you've not been on it.

Music, hey, it's a party, lets play party music - don't bore the crap out of me with stuff that I can hear on my local classic rock station. Here and there is fine - but let people get in a groove of some kind, and not make it like some kind of schitzo music session.

Lastly, the room. We had a jacuzzi room the first time, and this time we were in the 3000 block. Hands down, better room. Hated the stairs and missed the jacuzzi, but enjoyed the walls not sweating more.

What Was Worse:
1. The food
2. The evening activities
3. Shorter trip
4. The Stairs

Spoiled by a first floor room on the first trip, my legs are sore - lol, and I'm in good shape.

The evening activities were less than impressive (resort wise). But more over, they didn't have a dj playing music at Patio's if you wanted to skip the less than stellar shows. Missed the impersonator show from before, and Musak or whatever until 10pm+ is lame if I don't want to watch all of the burlesque show.

7 days the first time seemed a little long, but 5 days was WAY too short this time. Needed at least one more, especially after the Boobs Cruise.

Other than the Italian resturant, honestly underwhelmed by the others all around. And the buffet was what it always is, a little hit and miss. One night it was great, one night I struggled to find anything I liked at all.

What was a Wash:
1. Weather
2. Themes
3. Liquor
4. Trip home

We didn't get enough of economy class the first time, so to prove it to us, the Travel gods gave us a free upgrade to -1st class. Guess what, if I can upgrade for under $100 ever again, I won't even hesitate.

Liquor was the same. Drank more of a variety this time, but it was still good services and the cocktails did their job.

Themes were roughly 50% attended, but it usually made a close knit group out of the CCC people who did participate. We enjoy most of them - just a few we skip.

Weather was cooler - but also during the evenings, so the sports pool was too cold at night. Honestly if they'd keep it heated, they would save money at Paty o's - because we'd be in that pool.

That all being said, we think we're trying June next year. Huge props to our crew that made our last day a damn blast. We were all burnt out from the Boobs Cruise, but the after partying in the hot tub when we got back... epic, just wish we had another day to keep it going afterwards.

I have always thought you guys seem like a blast to hang out with and hope we are there at the same time at some point. Maybe when I live there full-time lol (A girl can dream!!!!)

 

We attribute the "blast" to TTR... though we tend to think we're a good time too, lol. Honestly we just had a great group of people. That really is what makes or breaks it.

Our last trip there was a cool group as well, just different and a different dynamic. Christy is trying to get me to head down there for Halloween - not sure I can make that happen, but next summer for sure.

 

We really want to go Halloween but my 5 year old would lose her $h!t if I wasn't home for Halloween.

It really is a great group overall, lots of repeaters. If you want to jump into a ready made party group, that's a good one.

 

Nice TR...maybe this last February was different but we thought the food was wayyyy better than our other previous trips and that the theme nights were all really fun with huge participation

 

We were there March. Def wasn't a fan of the food...although a lot of people I know will say "TTR is not a 5 Star...yeah I know. Just saying food wasn't the best..never been there before so I cant compare it to previous trips just comparing to previous resorts. Wasn't a fan of the music...there are literally Millions of songs out there....you can play more than 20 diff ones!!
