We became members this year.. and yeah our feelings won't be hurt if they offer us a bump to Desire... LOL during our meeting they told us expansion should start in the fall.. with that said maybe more opportunity to get bumped..
We had breakfast with Sarah69 at the GOV... she is a wonderful girl..she is frustrated that people give her a hard time because the Gov isn't TTR and people from TTR are expecting that.. she has said time and again that the GOV isn't TTR.. and she didn't have anything bad to say about TTR...just the people that come from TTR and are expecting the same... We didn't hang out at the party pool at the GOV but from what we could hear people were have a great time. We loved the GOV and were upset to hear that it sold it was a nice break before coming home...and we were upset that we missed Hugh Hefner and his 20 playboy bunnies that were at the resort on Tue May 6th... we had an extended nap that night...God dam it...LOL
I certainly hope Sarah had some sort of contract with GOV (Probably Not). She got pulled away from a job at TTR with the promise of a better future at GOV. Less than 6 months later the owners of GOV totally bail out on her. This is a complete change in the resort's ownership rather than a concept change.
We haven't been to Hedoll in 8 years. We felt it was declining back then. Heard it continued to decline, but at Xmas just passed, we were told by good friends @ Desire, that Hedo was now improving. New owereship (fluffernutters folks) were redoing rooms and sinking $$$ in. Kinda surprised to read your comments. Is it still bad? Are the employees still ornery? Has the food improved? Last time there we had given up on Italian and Buffet at night and did Hibachi grill evry night. Is Danny still doing the piano bar thing?
Danny still at the piano bar The food is gross, you can't get a table at the main restaurant unless you get there early. Italian was good and Harry san OK. The new owner (he bought out his partner when I was there) has a friggin ego. He is always there and had problem with only 1 person at HedoII, and it was dear Harry. He asked me 9 times to go back to his room which I declined. My friends had to "rescue" me. He mixes with the clientele and most women are impressed the chairman are giving them some. Really??? sad!!! They are doing only 1 room at a time and they charge you once at the resort an additional us$170/night if you want one of them. There is a mini bar (now) in each room, but it is empty: not included in the All Inc. not even a bottle of water. I found the place very boring as each group party in a different part of the resort so you find little groups of 25/30 people but no fun. So if like me, you came as an independent traveller, you cannot them those parties as reserved for them... Eventually everyone go down to the naked jacuzzi at 1am. Staff are good but the entertainment is not adult only style. Trivias, treasure hunts, etc... Best costumes on stage at night, guests talent competition on stage: what is this? a campsite? Boring. It has become this year non smoking, even in the room, which p*** off several guests. The rooms, the food are the big let down there. It is definitely over-priced and will not return. The transfer from Montego Bay is also a pain and for too long. I've convinced a couple of friends I met there to come to Temptation and I am happy to say they have booked their week at Xmas. They only go to nude resorts, but I am sure they will be impressed with the rooms and restaurants and the proper adult entertainment at TTR, especially since Sarah69 is most likely to return now.
Thanks for your detailed response. We were mildly considering a return to Hedo for a short brief stay to gauge the place now, bcuz of the positive info we were told by our Desire friends. But have to admit that I was leery bcuz of who the new owner is. Your comment sums up my opinion of him. His ego has always been copious. The fact Danny is in the piano bar still, says alot. I would've fired his ass 10 yrs ago. The rooms were really bad yrs ago. Temptation rooms are Valhalla in comparison. The groups, generally, were becoming like the U.N. You needed treatys neogotiated just to share the resort and have fun. I know what you mean about deserted at night bcuz the groups have hidden parties. Unless you are in a group you end up with a few lone wolf couples in the bar or disco. Luv your candid thoughts and suspect you are bang on. You have confirmed our suspicions thaat the issues we perceived have not improved but intestified with the ownership switch. At times the enteratinment felt like a borsct belt lodge. You say camping and I can totally get you on that. It is too bad that it is only getting worse. The food has been gross for a long time and we went off property too many times to eat. It became way way way overpriced for what it was becoming ( licence to get naked and watch live "senior citizens villa" porno(s) daily in the grotto) and after we found Mecca we were in no rush back to Hedo. Totally Agree with Frenchie, I feel that there is a completely different crowd that goes to Hedo II as compared with TTR. Most Hedo types would consider TTR as too tame, lame, whatever. THANK GOODNESS!!!!! Hedo regulars would eat Microwaved hot dogs and sleep in pup tents, they simply go for the atmosphere. When Hedo was under the Superclubs "Umbrella", the no sex, no drugs rules were enforced "somewhat". When Mr John Issa decided to totally vacate Jamaica (either he was looking at Cuba or simply afraid of Jamaicas HUGE debt to Red China), it really opened the floodgates for some bad Changes. We were at Breezes Grand when The Superclubs COO told everyone "Mr Boss told me to get us out of Jamaica, NOW, period" Harry Lange is one of the new owners and is normally in residence at the resort. a totally different resort now that the Fluffs are in CHarge. lets all hope that the "groups" concept doesn't take over TTR. Yes, Frenchie, I have heard the same things about the new owner(s). John Issa was a frequent visitor to Breezes/Hedo and considered them "HIS" resorts. The guests at TTR are simply normal folks that have a "naughty" streak, at Hedo that streak is about a kilometer wide. A little Voyeur in every one, but My wife really does not care to watch folks "going at it" in the little huts off of the main dining hall and watching 2-3 grandpa types having S** in the nude pool. We like sexy, but not sex. Well, at least not all over the resort 24/7!!!.
Lol @ Micro-ed tube steak and pup tents. I can think of a few hard core regs who would't care if that was the daily entree.
