    Hey fellow Canadians!

Searching government site wasn't real useful so wondering if any of you have traveled with your prescription meds to Mexico?? I was in a bad car accident in the fall and on 7 different prescriptions for pain and inflammation. Don't want to pull a bonehead and have them taken away from me as it would definitely wreck my trip to be without. Any insight from those that have done it and recently would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

Not certain but I would do two things to make sure you don't get them confiscated, or worse arrested.

    1) Keep all pills in the correct container you get from the pharmacy
    2) See if you can get a letter from your doctor or pharmacist detailing said prescription.

    No point in tempting fate.

Yep Can Dos Equis fan is right. Usually border guards are only concerned in Quantity. As long as you have the above (prescription meds with your scripts and the doctor note) and they are not in large quantities to have them think your flooding their streets with drugs. Shouldn't be a problem.

Just keep them in your carry-on - not checked luggage in the packaging with the pharmacy label and you should be fine.

Last time we were there and got the "red" light. They went through my pill box. They were really looking at a pill I take that is in a sealed foil packet. They didn't speak English very well either. I finally showed them my medical alert bracelet and they let me through. This time I'm going to have to carry the bottles. I need my meds or death could be on the horizon. NO BUENO!!

I've always traveled with my meds in the pharmacy bottles in my carry on. Never had any problems. Everytime I hit that damned button we get red lighted. Marie can hit the button and green light every time !!! WTF !!!
Put med bottles in zip lock bags so they're easy to see !!

Thanks everyone! My biggest concern was having to get my doctor to write me a note as you know how long it takes for appointments now a days. I plan to have them in all the proper bottles but thinking a call to my doc in the morning is in my best interest. Thanks again :)

been 12 times and never had an issue with meds but to keep them in original containers and try pharmacy print out if you can not get doctor to write letter in time. It will prove that they are legal meds. Never had a concern and my wife had a kidney transplant. MEDS are a must for her.

If they are in a prescription bottle they won't give you any hassle. I take my tylenol 3's and other meds with me. I just put them in my carry on.
