Wife and I are thinking about taking a day trip down to Copal Beach in Tulum on our trip next month and we have a few questions: What is the vibe of the beach? Is it quite? Sexy? And what percentage of people are naked? Is there another clothing optional beach that you would recommend? Thanks!
Copal, and Tulum in general is very laid back. Not a "sexy, party" vibe, but rather low key, quiet, get rid of your tan lines vibe. The clothing optional area there has gotten smaller, but there are still textile free people on the beach. There is a bar next door at the PapayaPlaya Project, but you do have to br be "dressed" on their area of the beach. For quiet and solitude go farther south past the arches and find a stretch of beach in the biosphere. Take some drinks and enjoy nature. Hope this helps.
Let's see... We've stayed at Desire RM once, and we really enjoyed that. A bit pricier than Temptation, but where isn't that's still quality and fun? Their beach is great, the vibe is sexily-relaxed (meaning you can sleepily sprawl on your loved one and if you want to get it on, go ahead, you might be watched, you might not, and that's what Desire is like and all about. Of course, you can go get in the hot tub where people are right erhe and have sex right there with them watching for sure if you want too, and that, too, is what Desire is all about. Interesting experience. We've stayed on St. Martin and been to the nude beach called Orient Beach a few times and had a great time each trip. That is more of a nudist thing than a sexy vibe, but one GREAT thing is the Perch bar overlooking the nude portion of Orient. Yes, you can go in there sans clothes, which is a good time. Popped over to St. Barth's for a visit to Gouverneur Beach, which is breathtakingly pretty, but no services, so bring it with you, but the water and scenery (of all kinds) is hard to match. Little Beach on Maui is nice, and they have "service" of a sort. Locals come by and offer to sell you "cookies & brownies," yes.... those kind. It's a fun time.
That's crazy for the money the beach is public. If I'm not mistaken aren't all Mexico beaches. Even at TTR I see families walking the beach in the morning hours.
