Getting to Playa Del Carmen

Hi guys, can anyone help us out? We have friends staying in Playa at the same time were in TTR. We might try to get down there for a day, what's the best way to get there? Thanks

Options ideally

 

bus, taxi or private driver. We have done private driver for a tour type of deal and taxi both ways when we have gone to spend the day. The trip is a little over an hour so it is not cheep.

You can get the bus down, cheap comfy and realible, we are heading down there for a couple of days, you catch the bus outside TTR to downtown get off at main bus station then catch coach to playa think it costs about $5 each, easy to do !

 

We've done the bus like Mickey is taking before and it's not bad... caught the express down and the local back... pay for the express.

We did the bus as well. ADO? I think is the name of the bus depot. We left early in the morning and went down to just hang around Playa for the day. Cheap and easy. Another option in USA Transfers of course if you aren't worried about what you pay. They pick you up at the front door and drop you back off. You set up the times. For the bus you have to take an R-bus downtown Cancun to the bus depot. Tell the driver where you are going. Then you get on the bus at the depot from there. The depot in PLaya is just off of Fifth Ave so it's a great location. You just have to be sure to get back before the last bus leaves to go back to Cancun
