Hi everyone...we're about 6 months out from our 2nd Temptation visit. :mnm: I'm looking for a new waterproof camera and I'd like your suggestions. I have a Canon (non-waterproof) that I love but didn't get to use much last September because it rained 6 of the 7 days we were there. (That's what happens when you go on vaca during hurricane season...lol) I had some of those 35mm "throw away" waterproof cameras but the pics turned out awful. Thanks so much!! Rita (aka Bunny)
This one comes out in June, should be plenty of time to get it before your trip. I'm thinking of replacing our old Olympus underwater camera with this, but I wouldn't be able to get it before our May trip. I use a GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition. it truly is the most versatile camera in the world and when Im not using that I use my Iphone in its waterproof case all of the photos on my page are taken with the iphone... this year is the year of the GoPro for us
The Olympus tough series , or pentax optio WG-3 regularly make the top ten. Canon has a few good ones too. Most under water cameras are crappy at night. Best to go to a photo store and tell them what your expectations are for pictures. Look for ease of controls and a good ''Idiot Mood'' for those intoxicated afternoons.
I have a Nikon Coolpix AW110 that is awesome. I was tired of always watching that my other camera being stolen. Now I can hold on to this one while in the pool. My disclaimer I do NOT take inappropriate photos that is just not cool! I will however take pics if people ask me to and send to their email address.
How do you guys Line up the shot when there is no View Finder? I was looking at buy go pro 3 hero, hesitated when there wasn't a view finder to line up shots. Well let Us know. that cam is def Interesting
I ask the ladies to pose. All pics are with volunteers. You would be surprised how many ladies enjoy having pics of their assess taken underwater so they can 'play' for the camera and break the ice a little. Then I shoot away about 10+ times switching the angle. Usually only one or two come out right but I think you will agree they were winners. Check out our Octoberbreast album.. (I can never cut and paste the bb code while on the mobile for some reason.) http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/members/jen-and-kyle-albums-jen-kyle-octoberbreast-day-2.html I took some later in the day with 20+ ladies lined up. Sadly we found that the water gets very cloudy later in the day and they didnt work out, so take your pics early. Octoberbreast 2014 will try that 20+ pic again when the water is still clear
I had a hard time getting use to no view finder s well, it does take a while. I know I'm not going to get pics like I do with my professional Nikon camera.
The GoPro has such a wide field of view that pretty much if you point it in the general direction of what you want to take, you are going to get it in the shot. You can get an LCD back that will let you see what you are taking and also what you've got. You can also pair it with your iPhone and "see" what you are getting that way also but that's a bit cumbersome unless you've mounted the cam somewhere and you are shooting remotely. Really though, it's pretty easy to get what you want by just pointing and shooting.
