Thanks for the tips!! I'm bringing my wide brimmed summer hat to help! Will also look up info on Melanotan. Thanks again!
I tan easily but trying to get rid of my farmers tan for the trip. I'm using tanning oils but also read recently in my "tanning research" that wearing sunglasses can prevent you from getting tan and you would more likely to burn. here's one of many articles: Sunglasses raise risk of cancer | UK | News | Daily Express Hats/Visors would be more optimal for this theory and they have "clear" sunglasses to still protect your eyes from UV rays. Beside you wouldn't want raccoon eyes and it would be easier to make eye contact at the bar without sunglasses!! "wink wink":ladiesman1: Just started using these oils which my neighbor uses and looks great! Under The Sun | Tanning Products There's other good ones from Panama Jack and Australia Gold but I tend to shy from the mainstream companies.
Make sure to bring ample oils/lotions in various strengths. Bring at least one 30+ even if you think you don't need it you might. Also bring a good quality after sun lotion that list s the Aloe as the first ingredient. I also have better luck with the oils versus the lotions, they tend to protect you r skin from wind burn , and drying out more, draw back is the oily feeling, but good massage oil Don't wait till you get there unless you want to get ripped off and pay 20 to 30 $usd @ bottle from the store or the sunshine girl.
FOr the red-headed hotties, go experiment with the spray-on tan, and figure out which shade works the best for you. For the firs ttime (no, I am not kidding - you won't know if you try) just go for it and try the darkest one they have, to see if it works for you and looks good. Worst thing that can happen is that you look like you've got a fake tan, and just be honest, laugh, and tell the truth about trying to protect yourself from Mexico Sun on vacation! If the very dark (Stacia uses this as, while a natural brunette, she's got fair skin) not the right look for you, next time use one shade lighter, until you find the one you like. Then, when in Mexico use at least the 30 SPF, to avoid actually burning. The combination should work great.
I tan very easily and hardly ever burn. I pre-tanned 3 days a week for 4 weeks prior to our February trip. I brought SPF 15 thinking I would be ok as I don't ever apply sunscreen at home. Boy, was I wrong. Lesson learned. I burnt pretty bad. I'm taking SPF 30+ when we go in October. I'm going to take both the cream and some aerosol too.
They do sell sunscreen of 110 SPF in Mexico, but it's really expensive - I tan very easily and have a base prior, but still take 30 SPF and for the Boobs Cruise it's 45 SPF biodegradable. I reapply hourly, or, so I think through my drunken state; nonetheless, it has worked for me thus far. Have a great vacation!! :sunny: Cheers, :ernaehrung015: C
From one vampire to another - I stick by the Sexy Pool bar, as it gets a lot of shade during the day. I venture out for an hour or two, but I burn incredibly easily, and I don't tan at all! Pre-tanning would be such a waste for me. Whilst I'm at TTR people tell me all the time "oh my you're burning real bad", but I'm incredibly careful - I get red a bit, but it's just my reaction to alcohol and sun, but I don't burn often.
Just carry around a tube of tanning lotion and don't be afraid to ask any guy for a reapply... great ice breaker. Jamie
I read a study recently done that there is no benefit gained by using anything over 50SPF...but the cost skyrockets for the higher numbers. I think re-applying 50 SPF hourly is the best defense if you're going to be in the sun. Having said that...we both tan so easily without burning, that we seem to forget about sunscreen.
