    I once got the full body cavity search, with TSA going through every item in my carry-on with those wipes they use to detect drugs or explosives or whatever. They got on their radio and called in reinforcements...Jamie's giving the head shake coupled with that "you idiot" look. So finally, they decide I'm not actually a threat to society...and as I'm putting myself together again, I ask "ummm...what the hell was that about?" They told me that the empty insulated mug in my carry-on, although permitted, is sometines taken apart by miscreants and contraband is slipped in where the insulation has been removed. I'm thinking...if I remove the insulation, my beer would get warm. Mugs are now always tucked into the checked bags.

    Checked bags are X-rayed in Cancun just before the Button,, they asked me to open my bag , cause they look like grenades on the x-ray, a quick look and we were on our way

    Tipping first: Tips are not expected, but consider that the folks who are working 12-hour shifts 6 days a week make an average of $15 uUSD a day, something like that. Regardless, it ain't the US minimum wage, and they are genrally humping their ass off for you. Next, Tipping Insures Prompt Service, which is how it works at TTR just like any other bar you've ever been in. Don't tip, you'll still get served, but the priority will go to the girl with the great rack (remember, the racks aare Out at TTR) or her man who drops a nice tipp each time he gets a round.

    My personal technique, since I tend to get a bit boozy during the day is to tip "My Guy" (you just pick one) and hit them with a $5 or $10 at the day's outset, and your're set. They remember, all day long.

    We always get a Jacuzzi room now, which is cool since it/they look right out over the Quiet Pool, and very importantly, the Quiet Pool's bar. Nice access. There are usually a couple beers in the fridge int he room, but no liquour. No real place to keep it. So, the best bet if you are an anti-social type who wants to hide away in the room while at the coolest party place perhaps on the planet, is to:

    A.) Pick up a bottle or two at home and pack it in towels in yoru luggage for the flight down;

    B.) Pick up a bottle or 2 of some good stuff at Duty Free during the airport time on the way down; or

    C.) Hit the Dragon Mart across the street, and expect to be totally bent over by the prices - even in Mexico.

    We don't buy booze over there, and here's why: a 4 oz. bottle/tube of SPF 15 goes for $32 to $40 at Dragon Mart. Ouch!

    Moral of the story is... the Quiet Pool bar is only about 30 feet away. You might even meet some cool people on the walk over or standing there while the dude is making the drinks up.

    If you want a specific bottle grab it from duty free. You get 2 beers a day in your room fridge but if your lucky and talk nice to your maid you can get more. Like others have posted get bubba mugs or some other cup with a lid (you will want that for the sexy pool anyway. We usually bring at least 4 so we can bring multiple drinks bck to room.

    Also depending on what room you get there is a bar at the quiet pool that is reasonably close to must Jacuzzi rooms Close to ll if you jump over railing :).

    Yeah...but the full body cavity search gives me a better story to tell.

    My incident took place in Minneapolis with what seemed like a record breaking number of passengers trying to get through security and fascinated in wondering what the hell I was trying to get away with. I think that was my 15 minutes of fame.

    The bubba mugs will probably be your best bet.. they will fill them all the way up for you without a problem.. I believe this year Tony is going to bring redbull and maybe a bottle of vodka.. normally we dont but he likes vodka redbulls and you have to pay for the redbull there and it's pricey

    Last trip I brought a bottle of premium vodka with me - best decision I ever made. This year I'm bringing two! Love the resort and drinks aren't that bad, I just have a preference and I'm on vacation so I feel I have the right to push the boat out on this one.

    Do you pack them in your luggage? If so how do you package them to make sure they dont break open?

    We purchased jet bag bottle sleeves off Amazon to protect the ones in our luggage. They are made to absorb any liquid that spills even if they break.
