Background: we are early 40s couple. One trip to TTR in 2013 and this was our first time to GOV. 3/20-25.

Arrival day- Our flight was perfect, except we forgot AirT doesnt serve food so ate a lot of pretzels. We did arrive at “prime time” so the shuttle pickup area was packed and had to wait for our USA transfer, but I was in Cancun beeches, so I found cervesa and chilled out. On arrival at GOV (about 1:30 pm) we were met at the door and once they checked my name on the list, we were escorted to the VIP lounge (thanks Valentina!). Thankfully, because I later saw the line at the main checkin. We were there the last 2 days of spring break so the hotel was pretty full. Our room wasnt ready yet, so we checked the luggage and went straight to the buffet.
I had only connected with 2 other couples on CCC before we left b/c thats all that had posted they would be there at the same time, but surprise to me, while we were eating one of the couples recognized us and introduced themselves. It was a nice surprise and much appreciated. We went back to VIP and went right up to the room to change.
The lobby and beach are breathtaking. We went straight down to the pool for a quick drink (or 6?). I hadnt unpacked my big mug yet so suffered through the little plastic cups 2 at a time. There were not too many people in the pool our first day and the beach was the place to be. It seemed to be a lot more 20s groups there than I expected but I like that the volleyball court was non-stop. Being so late in the day, nearly every place on the beach was taken, but we found a beach bed that had been abandoned and met some great party people there. The sun was getting low and we both were sexed up, so we headed to the room for some “us” time. We enjoyed both porn channels, but 36 got a lot of air time. We did get a renovated spice room so I did not upgrade for a balcony room. However, we were on the 7th floor and when we went to shower found that there was little/no water. We had to mess with the faucet some but managed to get it working and went down to eat. We needed to rally because we had booked ourselves on the Kinky Pirate cruise and our day started at 4am mexico time to make our flight from Baltimore. We hoped to get into the Maki-Taco but they dont open until 7pm so we opted for the Italian place (Moonlight cafe). Our meal was very good (I had the tuna and she had the steak pasta) and the wine flowing. Suddenly the cruise was feeling iffy at best. After dinner we chilled on a cabana by the pool and were surprised to find the show started early that night. The performers were a cross between cirque and the Avatar move characters--very cool!
After the show we went to the room; I had to try and get some sleep to make the cruise. She spent time changing and prepping and didnt wake me up until 10:15pm. Holy shit, the bus leaves in 15 minutes. I did my fastest changing and we ran down to the bus to find that it was all loaded and there was a mob trying to talk their way on. I was pumped on the rum and cokes from the day as well as some 5 hour energy so I parted the sea of people and went right to the guy that held the official guest list. He was saying 4 spots left as I got to him and said good, we are a party of 2 and gave the room number. Sure enough we were in! Its a short ride on the bus and it leaves from another grand oasis hotel. The ship looked big until 3 other buses of people (each from a different oasis resort) showed up. The cruise was great fun for us, but you have to want to dance and drink non-stop. I tipped a server $5 when they first brought drinks and he dutifully found me every 20 minutes to bring me 2 of whatever I wanted all night without my asking. A lot has been written about this cruise on other TRs. In summary, we danced the whole time except for the breaks for the show parts and had a good time. We crashed when we got back at 2:30AM. I promise the rest of the days on my TR will not be as long as this and I'll try to add pics.

Friday- We used the morning to sleep, watch ch 36, and sexed with the windows wide open. SInce we missed breakfast, food was needed. It was this day I learned that the restaurants dont open until 1pm, which is fine if you make it to breakfast. There was a line for the wimpy burgers at 11:30 so we went instead to the beach bar in hopes of sushi. It was noon, so I ordered some rum and coke in my large-bubbalike mug. This is when we learned that they dont serve sushi at the bar. The server led us to one of the remaining tables (they are taken quickly at noon) and we enjoyed the sushi there. The rest of the day was spent around the pool and the beach; very relaxing, met some more nice people and I bought a 6 pack box of the cuban cigars from a beach dude. They appear genuine but I bought them late in the day so saved the real test for later. We were determined to make Maki-Taco and had spent our day trying to spread the word some about wearing lingerie at Coyote bar that night. The Maki-Taco was very good and I wish we had repeated it another night. No problem walking in at 7pm and the food and service was fantastic. We looked for a show after dinner but didnt see anything happening so went to our room. I wish I had taken a picture b/c its hard to describe her outfit. I wore some boxers and a beach shirt, and Irina was one of 2 or 3 ladies that went all out on the sexy lingerie look. The coyote bar never seemed to get overly crowded but everyone had fun and lots of dancing, including some ladies and men that gave an honest attempt on the pole. The show that night was sexy women dancing on stage with singing by the male coyote. It was pretty good but over by 11. I was ready to take beach sex off my cancun bucket list so we went for a walk. There were already a couple or two that had claimed beach beds so we watched as we walked slowly. The hotel seemed to read my mind and turned off the lights on the beach in front of the spa area right as we walked that way. That side is opposite of the coyote bar so has no traffic. We grabbed a cabana bed and we did a different type of pole dancing. I think someone on a balcony above us caught some of the show but no security issues from the hotel. We made one more appearance at coyote bar before they closed and called it a night. I'll try to finish this up tomorrow.

Can't wait for the next installment! Sounds like you guys had fun.
Noticed you said you went to the VIP lounge at check in. We PM'd Adriana about that and got this response "We don't offer VIP check-in."
Maybe it's a case by case basis!
If we wanted to stand in line for hours we'd go to Disnelyland lol.
    Thanks for sharing.

Sound like you had a great time. We are on the edge of our seats for Chapter 3. Thanks for spending the time to write a TR. We will be there the end of May and are starting to ramp up our excitement level.

Saturday- Started with an early mimosa breakfast at the buffet and then back to the room for some ch36 and more ‘us’ time before going to the pool. They dont open the bars until 11am, which was annoying but the room beer carried me and thankfully no lines when the bars opened. We decided to do white box restaurant for lunch b/c I didnt want to deal with the dinner reservations. The service and food was good but the portions were smallish for me. Have to admit the day was fuzzy because there was a lot of drinking. We hung out on the pool chairs next to the bar and met lots of canadians. Really enjoyed getting to know folks and the funniest part of our trip was this one guy that passed out on a chair by us next to the pool. He was with a group of guys and must have drank hard early b/c it was only 2pm or so when he passed out. Some ladies decided to make a game of bouncing ping pong balls to try and land them in his wide open mouth. No one could find a sharpie, but someone had an (unused) tampon that we carefully placed in several places on his body. Aside from that the poolside entertainment was light. There were a couple funny skits by the entertainers but usually short and no audience participation. We liked what they had, but had thought the foam party would start earlier. After much anticipation, it began about 5pm-ish. It was fun and we fully participated. It was during the foam that the most topless occurred. At some point I went to the ocean to rinse the foam and noticed that the foam party had drawn lots of people (with their kids) from other resorts on the beach that wanted to watch and take pictures. I guess the resort cant stop that but they were not shooting anyone in particular; just the whole mass of people. The foam stopped before it was fully dark out but it really was a lot fun! We ate at the Morrocon place for dinner and although I had drank all day I remember the food (and wine) was excellent. I had scheduled a dive trip the next day so we left coyote bar at midnight. They had the band there (mostly oldies) and they were good.

Sunday- I got up early since I was scuba diving. Breakfasts at the buffet were pretty much the same everyday, but they had enough good options that I was very happy. They always had an omelet station and pancakes, etc. If you dive, the only place around Cancun seems to be Solo Buceo which is walkable from GOV. Its toward the bar area, but you stay along the waterfront and before the Dreams hotel. I picked a bad day for it because they had way too many people on the boat. Seriously, it was probably made for 12 people max and they put 25 divers on it. The positive side was dive sites were great and experienced divemasters. I went thru a sunken ship (a first for me) and my 2nd dive was a drift where we must have covered a mile of reef (strong current). I didnt get back to GOV until 2:30 and after a quick lunch we spent the day drinking on the beach. We were camped in a cabana near the bathrooms (near quiet pool) and thats were they have a row of hot tubs. So about 5:30 or so the beach crowd had thinned out and there was a tub closest to the bathrooms that seemed private. I started it filling and began to pull the sheer blinds all around. The tubs are on raised decks to so you have good semi-privacy. Of course with sheer curtains you are on a stage for all to see if they look for you. As you may have guessed, Irina and I went topless and bottomless in the tub. I think our show was discreet but it seemed like everyone decided to use the restrooms at the most inopportune times so we had quite a few watchers :-D
We ate again at the Italian restaurant and it was very good, but they really need A/C in there (too hot). The show that night was a team of firedancers. I honestly dont know how they did some of their moves without setting themselves on fire. It was by far the best show to me and it was quite long and on the beach by the water. We turned in early again because we were going to Isla next.

Monday- We had buffet breakfast and hunted for another couple that said they would go with us to Isla for the day on the Ultramar ferry. Unfortunately, they bailed because she was sick the night before (viral and not alcohol) so we went on our own. I highly recommend finding a group to go to Isla if you do it. I had somehow thought there was a nude beach over there and was determined to find it. The ferry dock is a 10minute walk from GOV (go left after walking out entrance); we caught the 10am ferry. Just make sure you know the correct times for return as we were almost stranded. We rented a golf cart and went around the entire island (south from town and around). There are a few good places to stop but that island is bigger than I expected. It was fun buying beers and driving roads in a cart. Irina was scared from my driving many times. We ate lunch at the southern lighthouse which is where I thought the nude beach was located. The view there is unbelievable and is a must stop for pictures. We stopped at several other places, but I decided to find a private beach for our sunning. I found it along the ocean side of the island -there are coral reefs along the shore. About 3/4 mile or so from the southern point we parked the cart and walked over the coral. There are several places where there is a 6 foot drop to the beach. Where we stopped the beach was only 50 feet wide but enough privacy for us to shed clothes. W must have been inspired by all the ch36 video because we recreated a few of the scenes together. After a while we were getting dehydrated so packed up and found our way back to town for beers and then did some shopping in the town. Caught the last ferry back to the hotel zone but we were still were back in time to hop in the pool just before sunset. Dinner was Morrocon and didnt expect it but the menu was the same courses all week so dont go there twice expecting something different. I thought they might change the menu each day. We thought we might to to CocoBongo for a drink our last night but after getting there at 9pm we found that they dont open until 10:30 and the prices are crazy. Back to GOV and coyote bar where there was an impromptu pole dancing competition. The whole bar was into it and pretty good talent from a drunken sun-soaked crowd. After a few drinks we took a um….walk on the beach ;-)
Tuesday was our departure so we smoked a last cigar and said our goodbyes. We returned to 2 inches of snow in Baltimore and wondered why we ever left GOV. Great trip. It was only 2 days home before I was searching the calendar and internet for a potential return.. I think that next time we are going to split time between GOV and TTR.

Thanks for the detailed report. It sounds like you had fun, but the crowd wasn't overly social? Just seemed that there was no real crowd mischief like TTR?

Well............From all that we have heard from people we know.....GOV is a fantastic place...........admittedly more "chill" than TTR............ which is what we want. After almost 10 years to TTR.......we've grown tired of the whole "USA vs CAN AHHHHHH DAAAA".........bull shit day after day year after year at the pool. We need a change..........lol.....but still doing 2 sleeps at TTR to see friends.....
