    Tips

We have always tried to tip well !!!! The staff who we know so well form so many trips really work hard and make our vacations great !!!! The maids also deserve to be looked after as they clean up all week after us !!!! I usually tip breakfast server $2 and pool bartenders 10-20 for the day night time dinner 10$ and night bartenders $20 so prolly $40-50 per day!!!!! The amount you see them hustle and bust their butts they deserve it !!! It's whatever your comfortable with I'm sure they appreciate whatever you can give

    Back to temptations soon !!!!!

After watching our lunch waitress make the sign of the cross with our $5 tip... well let's just say we probably over do it a little.

Whether at TTR or other resorts, in add'n to the usual tips for housekeepers, bartenders, server and cooks, we also try to discreetly tip the folks who clean the pools, arrange poolside loungers, towel staff, common area cleaners, groundskeepers, beach groomers and front desk folks... don't know if they're in the pooled tip group (hadn't heard about pooling tips at TTR), and any excursion/Boobs Cruise crew and activity staff if we connect with them. Again, on the down low so it does not risk them getting in trouble with supervisors or security. They always seem to appreciate it. Maybe we go a bit overboard in terms of frequency, but keep the amounts reasonable. We do what feels right at the time and have never felt pressured. We like to pay it forward... it's good kharma, right?

We did $3 a day for the room maid...get some extra towels and bottled water. Every drink we tipped $1-2. In the US we pay for our drink then give a $1.00 tip... The more you tip the more they come to you, although the service is good whether you tip or not. Dinner, we always left a minimum of $5 if basic service and more if better. I don't like the idea of not leaving a tip. I would never do that in the USA and the workers there make much less and are happy working for that amount. So sad!!!

We tip like we would back home 1-2 dollars per drink and 2 a day for the maid. The extra water comes In handy after a night at Patty O ! As for the pool I usually do 20 every other day so I don't have to carry soggy cash with me.

Well said !!!! We have also tipped the pool staff and grounds maintenance guys as they work hard everyday and probably don't get the recognition they deserve. We have also never felt pressured to tip anyone while staying there .

They can use two dollar bills. However they have a special meaning in Mexico so they will not spend them. Not sure of the reason but have done it in the past. Maybe someone else can shed more light on the subject of why.

    Been to strip club much???

As for tipping, as I was told they do pool the money from the bars among the staff each shift. otherwise the bar backs would get almost nothing.
