I just read that too it was the first of 9 government funded hotels on the reef commissioned in 1971.... the year I was born.

I spoke with the older lady in the jewelry store in the hotel, and she said she has pretty much been there since it opened. Very nice lady.
I wonder in what year did they decided to create the Adult Sexy concept of the hotel. I know Blue Bay already had it but did it started there or even before (while it was Playa Blanca)?
Well, if you had taken the "tour" after arriving, you would know the answer to that question. . LOL on the timeshare tour, they actually take few moments to explain that it is still owned by the original family.
