I think we're in agreement. The whole focus on respect just seems odd. Where does one go that being respectful is not expected or a given? Not that singles on this forum ask whether they need to be respectful but they sure are told they need to do that. If I were single I'd be insulted to hear that. As a married man I wonder what kind of singles go there that need to be told this.
I don't think they are asking if they need to be respectful. I think that they are asking (as Dos Equis says) do they fit. The fact they are asking shows a certain amount of respect initially. Also, As Funinthesun states, hooking up isn't the agenda. Not all single guys have hooking up as their priority and those that do, probably aren't respectful enough to ask in the first place. There are lots of couples asking "is TTR for us" and we don't automatically assume they are there to swing or find the unicorns, so why does it have to be assumed single guys want to do that. As a single guy, 7 trips to TTR, my focus isn't to hook up, but to have an adult only vacation, where people are fun and open. I only tell them when I reply to be respectful so they are really clear, right off the bat.
My first post was joking (fat old bald man who fights off the ladies) and you don't need to explain yourself to me. I just notice that couples are never told to be respectful and all these "respectful single" posts could make a first time couple see single men as a real problem. Makes one wonder. Not condemning. Just sayin.
Some good points have been made. We are a couple that will be at TTR for our first time in two weeks. Single guys do not intimidate or concern us. Mrs enjoys having fun with them if the vibe is right anyway. However, reading some posts on here had us concerned what type of single guys frequent this place. We don't expect anything bad though. It takes a lot to offend either one of us. Let's drink and have a great Spring Break party!
The other point is that no one on here in their right mind would give a negative opinion on the subject cause they would be attacked. So all responses to the question are always on the positive side.,,so the question is redundant. :deadhorse: not saying I want to give a negative comment ( I reserve those for bachelor parties) ,
