If it's something that is valuable and/or has a significant sentimental value I would say yes. You're out by a pool with a few hundred people during the day and a crowded club atmosphere at night. The vast majority of people are good but there's always one or two that get stupid. Just use the same caution you'd use in public at home.
Thats a good idea regardless of where you travel. When we left our stuff at the sexy pool, we made sure nothing was valuable. In many cases, the bag was probably the most expensive item. We typically would only have some shorts or cover ups and sunscreen and our bubba mugs with us, everything else was in our room or room safe. On our last day there, we had all of our valuables in our backpacks, but I carried that with me wherever I went, including the bar. Netcruizer99

It may have been the same person who tried to jump up and grab our "Who Dat" Saints flag that was hanging from our balcony, not knowing me and my husband were sitting on the balcony. Let's just say he appeared to be drunk and had cement in his shoes.
In October after the Boobs Cruise partying at the jacuzzis someone stole my sandals. I was really pissed off as I was being very careful with them as the year before a jealous boyfriend left a hot tub party we were hosting and I watched him put my sandals on as he stomped out. Never saw him or my sandals again But back to October, so I was all upset that my sandals were gone but then I found out Steve had accidentally taken them, mistaking them for his own in post booze cruise drunkenness. Crazy things happen at TTR. Apparently I was meant to be barefoot there. But Steve did promise me a Boobs Cruise on the date of my choosing this year? Remember that Steve? Lol. I think Monday May 12th would be perfect
If people stole me, well great for you.. because I always bring the cheapest thing at the sexy pool I keep my nike thong in my room. Money - I do not bring alot. Credit Card - Advice my credit card compagny and if they saw something unusual they will block it. -Passport - never add issue left in my suitcare or safety box . You need to be carefull guys, they ares some jerks everywhere. I don't even keep sunblock by the sexy pool, because I know 1 bottle it's 280 pesos Oh well, that really suck !
Hehe, I remember the sandal mix up. I did bring them to the cigar lounge party a few days later as I thought they were Darrin's but he had no idea what I was talking about. I'm still wearing them! Size 12/13 are impossible to get here. I will give them you back next time I see you but they stink a bit more than they did before I do wonder what happened to mine though. Only a couple of months old, bought in the UK and bloody expensive.
Also had a pair of shoes stolen in August last year. Went to the pool party on a Saturday. Left my trousers, shirt and shoes by the pool. Came back and only trousers and shirt were there. Shoes gone.
