TTR is the most fun place we have ever vacationed. The facilities and food are good, not outstanding, but the vibe is unparalleled. The great staff contributes to the fun, but the management thinks nothing about pissing customers off. It happens almost every trip. This time, they managed to do it before we even get there. We reserved two rooms months in advance, one double occupancy and one single occupancy. The double was $212 per night and the single was $159 per night. Now that we have found a fourth person to go, we wanted to change the single occupancy to double, thinking it would be the $53 per night difference. But Noooooo! They want to charge an additional $175 per night just to change the room from single to double. We did this several times in years past and they only charged the difference. Not now! I called reservations, the hotel, the manager and everyone I could. They all just said "those are the rules!" After years of fun at TTR and introducing countless new people to the place, I've had it! This will be our final trip if they don't fix it.
I hope that you can get that resolved. Not knowing how you booked but if it was through an intermediary (ie expedia/travel agent etc), maybe try through them? If that doesn't work maybe try putting something up on tripadvisor in the review section. They seem to be reading and responding to reviews on there now. Maybe a little bit of a public gripe where lots of people can read it will help grease the wheels.
Yes, I understand the same thing kind of happened to us. we asked about upgrading the room, and they told us a price, which I Agreed to. Then a few hours later they more then doubled the price! All together it would cost more to upgrade my room the to actually decided to Pay for a whole new room in their "drops of Love Suite" which is their most expensive Suite... Something Fishy is going on here... I'm not Liking it... Anyone else have any More input on all this??
Well, I really don't have a clue why everyone else gets pissed at TTR. For me, its the plain and simple reason that there are just way too many bare naked hooters. Enough is Enough. Yes, I do have a bit of dementia!!
Cancel the room, pay the 50 cancellation fee, rebook a double room not necessarily in that order Time limits apply to the fee.
Also, sometimes if you call at a different time of day you might get someone on the line who'll help you out more than the person you talked to the first time. Come to think of it, I wonder if Steve has any pearls of wisdom as he knows managment more than any of us mere mortals.
No kidding. . . Tried to book today. Apparently Marshe is Mary and Joseph and are now looking for a farmers' stable.
Bummer for you guys, you could always try GOV but I'm not sure they'd let you in after causing them havoc on that board lol! :musik001:
