TTR is completey sold out last 2 weeks in April

Lucky I booked when I Did, Looks like alot of people will be bumbed to Desires in April!! If you havent booked for April you are out of luck.

 

Wow we cut that really close. We wanted to do April 25th to May 3rd but the resort was already sold out on the 25th and 26th when we booked.

 

Yep confirmed it last night, they have blocks of sold out days, so you can't book with the resort if one of your days includes one of the sold out days.

Travel company's still seem to book any ways , thats were the bumping starts.

 

I have to admit, after reading and seeing the blackout dates (which I saw a week ago) I am a little nervous about "bumping".

Being a TTR Newbie, I'm clueless. How does it work? Who gets bumped? Is there anything we should do to prepare for it?

 

They usually start by offering free upgrades to their sister resorts to people that are already there.. sometimes if its at one of the lesser resorts they will offer you 3 free nights in the future at Temptations a lot of people will offer to go to desires it is a5 star resort and an upgrade to go there.... Only problem is is when you're meeting up with friends at

 

It is going to get interesting as I know the first thing they do is offer desire pearl like Donald states. However, the basic rooms at pearl are sold out for much of the beginning of May. Don't know about April. So I assume that means you could get a suite or moved to another resort? But I thought their family friendly resort is now operated and/or owned by someone else.

 

What are the chances of getting there and being bumped? Is it something we should expect, or is it an "option"?

 

Good question....it better be optional. All this anticipation to goto TTR and to get there and find out your bumped would be a piss off. What would one do with all the orders from yandy..lol

 

This is the only time "bumping" and TTR in the same conversation is a bad thing.

But really, Don't let the thought of being "bumped" to a different resort get you worked up before your trip. This happens, the conversation, that is, happens every April/May time frame.

 

I've never experienced this first hand, but others have posted that it's generally a volunteer system. One TR stated that that there was a sign posted at the front desk asking for anyone would like to stay 2 or 3 days at Desire Pearl. The couple thought it over for a bit...decided to take the bump, but some other couple beat them to it. It also seems to be generally for just a night or two...not an entire week.
