First timers here going May 29 - June 3rd. The forums have been great for learning all kinds of stuff and what to expect. I was wondering what the poolside music setup is. Is it all provided by the resort or can we bring an Ipod and plug into their setup if it needs a boost? I don't want to drag a speaker with me on vacation but I am willing to share my warm sunshine, chillin', drinking, having a good time playlists with everyone!

They supply the music , sometimes good ,sometimes ,,well , bad.

Bribes will get you one song or two .

I like variety which they usually do , except when they bring in a guest DJ, and they think their playing to a daytime RAV party.

In October they let Jen plug in her iPod at about 4:30 - 5ish. She can be very persuasive though. I think she basically told him she was tired of him trying to clear out the pool with the same end of day slow mix. The tempo of the music definitely changes at some point between 4:30-5:30 depending on the day and time of year. This is really the exception to the rule though. 100's of times at every possible location we have requested songs. Common response is yeah I can play that but rarely does it actually get played. So that is the more common situation sadly.

Funny. To each their own. We love it when they bring in a DJ that plays actual EDM (electronic dance music) that you would typically hear in a club. Last two trips that happened each Saturday at the pool and maybe one night?

I recall scoping the pool when they played that, and the crowd mysteriously got younger. ( us old folks found the beach or quiet pool )

I don't mind it at night when your drunk and buzzed on ecstasy, or mixed in by the pool during the day ( I am slowly gaining a tolerance for it ), but not nonstop by the pool during the day.

They do draw a crowd in the mosh pit between the DJ and the swim up bar.

    Variety is always good ;)

I was a mobil DJ way back, and the easiest way to lose a crowd was to play requests.

The worst is the noise they play at patio,s before the DJ gets there, or on Pool party nights
