We did 9 days this time and it was perfect because half way thru the trip we had rented a room over on Isla Mujeres (Maria Del Mar Hotel- small, nice and 10 ft from North beach) for 1 night. We went over at 9:30am and didnt return to TTR til 5pm the next day..On our future visits to TTR we will always do it this way because being at the same resort for consecutive days can and does get tiring..plus the Isla nightlife is full of hole in the wall little bars that were super fun...

This is a great idea. We take the ferry to Isla Mujeres every trip, maybe we will actually spend the night one of these times.

In Closing...

General issues we had with the resort:

This place is literally falling to pieces before our eyes. Lots of broken tile, AC's that weren't functioning correctly, and heck, even the drain on my jacuzzi tub would not stay closed. Our friend's room door would seemed like it was closed, but a little push and it would open right up. None of this stuff is expensive to fix, and the fact that they don't speaks volumes about how little they care.

To have big computer screens at checkout and ask for guest feedback, and then continue to ignore it, is worse than never asking for feedback in the first place. I find it insulting. I'll modify the theme of the resort to,

"Nobody knows you, and management doesn't give a shit".!

I realize I am late to the party but :lotsofmichaelfs:

Reading the trip reports helps pass the time till I can be there again and this one was great!!

Kinda scary about the guy grabbing your wife. Tim of TimBeck would NOT have gone for that AT ALL and would have reacted much like you - Assuming I didn't knock the guy out first!!
