We are intrigued with GOV, and wouldn't mind trying it out. We are scheduled for a Cancun trip in February, but haven't yet booked anywhere. We'd like to try GOV, but face it, the thing that really makes TTR extraordinary is the people. None of us are in love with the resort itself or the rooms. In fact, both times we've been there, we've had some issues with the rooms. Whether they are slight or large, they are still issues. The only thing that keeps us from booking GOV right now is not knowing about the people there and the party atmosphere. If we could have the same people and atmosphere that we get at TTR, we'd gladly welcome an upgrade to the resort itself!
Give the roll call a looksy and pick dates that alot of CCCers are going. We booked April and have at least 10 couples going so it is bound to be fun...
read the late feb early march forum. We are there feb 26 - mar 4. Have met some really fun couples on here that will bere there same time roughly as us. Good luck, keep reading we liked what were seeing
Unfortunately, our dates are fairly solid. We're going to Cancun for a business trip Feb 23-26, so we have to schedule our vacation time either directly before or directly after the business trip. Thanks for the comment though!
Room types? Am looking at GOV as an alternative to TTR for July. Mrs hotbath thinks TTR might be too much. I'm struggling to price rooms at GOV. Travel Republic (UK) quote on this range of rooms: Double Ocean View Double Grand-Ocean View Twin/Double Room Suite - Sea View Standard Room, Oceanfront - All Inclusive- Adults Only - Free Parking Double Superior-With Sea View Ocean Standard - All Inclusive Ocean Spice - All Inclusive Ocean Spice - All Inclusive- Adults Only which bear little resemblance to descriptions on the Oasis website. Any idea what's what?
your booking engine does not have the correct info. There is a lot of info on this site re GOV rooms. Standard Flirt, Standard Spice (upgraded, nicer etc), Balcony, and Suite rooms. We just stayed there and had room 334, spice upgrade and was awesome wo any problems at all. Every room at the resort is ocean view, none better than the next we would say except elevation.
you can only book standard (not so nice) and Spice (upgraded room) before check in. Balcony and suite are only offered at the counter if available. Thats their policy, simple and straight forward..
Wouldn't bother till you get there The only real difference is if you want a hot tub in your room, as they all have ocean view etc.
