Trip ReportFeb 26 - Mar4 We are a mid 40's couple who were looking for a topless fun resort with something to offer us for day and night life entertainment, maybe even a beach as the last 3 years to MX we did not stay at a resort with a swim or wadeable ocean beach. We chose GOV as they seem to give us everything we were looking for and for the best value of other options. These are our thoughts on the resort: Resort: Very nice resort, has a lot of nicely or newly remodeled things, everything on the resort is lower level with like 12 floors of rooms. Looks a lot like a blaaa and boring hotel from a distance but when you enter the resort there is no doubt it is on a beautiful beach as you see it from the entire lower level area. Walking around the resort is nice and flat with only a hand full of trip hazzards to watch out for (repeat MX travelers will know what we mean here) AND there are a lot of hand rails as well, another luxury item in MX. Restaurants We ate at all 6, obviously some repeatedly. Our favorite was the White Box for supper. The Japanese restaurant was good too... you get a variety of food that is shared at the table. Breakfast is the same day after day at the buffet. Our main complaint would be no late night food (as others have commented about) and the food next to the pool (Wimpy's) was just small burgers and little hot dogs, occasionally with fried chicken strips that weren't bad. Sushi restaurant was between the pool & beach and it was great, but took forever to get your food. We and others literally took 1.5 to 2 hours for lunch. We met a fun couple there and shared our table with them. Overall we hardly ever complain about food on our MX vacation as we feel we get what we pay for in a daily rate and we would NOT complain about the quality of the food we ever received. Room We were well taken care of by Valentina who ensured we got two upgraded rooms right beside each other which is very important if you have a special couple to do dinners etc with. We asked for a lower level room so we did not have to use the elevator each time we went to the room and were in rooms 333 and 334. Floor 2 is where the rooms start, so we were actually on level 4. (Again everything like restaurants etc is on the lower level) We used the stairs and occasionally the elevators (which were yes very very tight) Very Very happy with our room. Only complaint would be ... well we cant complain.. we tipped and asked the maid to leave us extra water and towels and were well stocked. Beach AWESOME!! had never in our travels had a beach like this so it was a real treat and we made good use of it. Usually put lounge chairs how we wanted on the beach and then moved to the pool around 3 pm. There must be a thousand white plastic lounge chairs on the beach and still a lot of room. Pool(s) more people used the quiet aka infinity pool than we expected just as a note. (obviously the older crowd) The topless pool and swim up bar was large and nice. could deff use more lounge chairs and has the room for it. The topless attendees were deff much less than we expected. Our CCC group from large to small #'s by the time we left were the main ones going topless if not the ONLY ones some days. We did convert a # of women to the other side. This is the biggest disappointment in the # of topless women, along with the relaxed policy of having cameras out and no signage. We had a nice long conversation with Valentina about this and she said signage has been approved and ordered and should be in place about mid March. There needs to be more than just a sign or two around the pool though to make it a comfortable topless environment. The beach was also a topless area and our group was again the target of many potential pictures as there is a lot of walking traffic along the beach from the other resorts. It did not cause any fights or major confrontations (some people did have some discussions though) I only had to approach 1 young man as others were more into watching out than we were but lets just say it was almost a constant watch for teenage boys and their camera phones.. and no you dont have to be topless at the beach so part of the time the tops were on at the beach. Entertainment / night life Could go into detail here but will keep it short. They do a good job of putting out a weekly schedule on paper that will explain what is going on and where. The Shows were much much better than TTR. again what a value!!! The coyote bar is the only dance floor that we experienced. The Coyote bar is a bit of a Mr Potato head layout and does not flow or show well. There is very few places in the bar that you can see the show, and be standing around visiting and or dancing etc. It is a easy 15 min walk downtown to the party area. Skits and entertainment around the pool and beach were hilarious. Made us laugh and enjoy the day even more. Good taste, acting etc. MUCH MUCH better than TTR in our opinion. It was amazing how many people were amazed by the 48 oz bubba mugs. They are so dam handy and work great. We tipped Jose at the Sushi / Pool bar well once / day and he always had it filled and back to me in no time at all. This is NOT TTR, it is different, it is much better in some ways and some ways not. We honestly do not know what we are doing next year.. :flash:
We would love to go again to where you guys are going! we had a blast. As we just told J&J were sitting on the plane and cant push back for our last flight home.. Keep in touch
room service does deliver, plan ahead, smuggle some food into your room yes Minor inconvience, it is a financial decision on their part and we get that.
One more thing, We did experience the late night (1:30 am) no lights on around the resort and it did bother us. so the next morning Valentina found us and was talking and we told her about that and she sounded surprised that we experienced that. But that was fixed for the rest of our trip as far as we know. We did go down to the beach quite a few nights late into the morning hours and just have a nice romantic time on the beach

Iowan Farmers, thank you for being kind and brave enough to make recommendations to Valentina and other staff about ways to make GOV even better in the future. If couples like you keep giving them feedback, our trip in June should be excellent! Already sounds like a blast and will only improve over time. Love the honest and real trip reports. Plane rides always suck going home.
Yep were still stuck in MSP, 3 hours now.. Your welcome and we were certainly not the first from CCC to help make improvements to GOV for future CCC members to benefit from. Thanks to all whom have gone b4 us as well. Valentina is one serious asset to this place for this group of people. We hope she knows how much we appreciated her help, advice and immediate results for us.
After reading Will and Laura's TR... Yes the foam party was amazingly fun, we found it very funny to see people acting so young and silly due to a big bubble bath. They did announce no pictures of people not in your group about 10 times before the foam started flowing but that didnt last 2 minutes and then there were hundreds of pics being taken. No biggy most women we saw just put their tops on.. We did the Thurs night pirate cruise, because we both cant really get into kareoke and we didnt have a good excuse to not make it. so we went with an couple we just met and we enjoyed it. Drinks were flowing, the little pirate skit and dancing and a few competitions were fun. basically a night club with loud music and dancing ON a really cool pirate ship moving along the water. Slight drizzle rain so they covered us in a big black tarp, meaning they were prepared for rain.
Could you offer up and insight as to how the ladies dressed on the cruise? Were any of the women in costume? Sexy dress? anyone topless? The Mrs, has a hard time keeping her cloths on when she's in party mode :flash::bootyshake::3some:
