I’ll start this off by disclaiming that neither Dave or I have been to TTR so we can’t make any kind of comparisons between the 2 resorts. All in all we had a fantastic time! I’ve posted an album under our profile if anyone would like to see some pics (Oasis Viva 2014). We took a few on the Kinky pirate cruise and they’re on page 2 of the album. I think the most recent trip reports have been fairly accurate, so instead of giving a day to day, play by play, here’s our “Bests” of the trip: 1. Best before trip purchase: (2) large insulated mugs for the pool and beach. I’m not a big drinker, but I was able to keep a cold drinky in my hand with lots of ice and not have to go to the bar so much. 2. Best area to hang out in topless: Pool bar and adjacent underwater ledge and stools. That’s where the party was, and the best place to make friends with open, outgoing people. Lots of non-CancunCare girls decided to try the topless option after they saw how much fun we were having :-D 3. Best Trip trade-off: We might have had to pay for Wi-Fi, but the porn was FREE, haha! Check out channels 35 & 36 4. Best way to eat at the White Box: Go for lunch instead of dinner. It might be different now, but we had a late lunch on our first day (about 3pm) and there was no line and no reservation needed. You don’t get to pick what you want for the courses (like at dinner) but everything was so good I don’t think it really mattered. 5. Best hotel event: Foam Party!!! Seriously, don’t miss it! It was awesome! I may actually become a lesbian after dancing with random slippery, sudsy breasts bouncing against my slippery, sudsy breasts—HAWT! 6. Best decisions at check-in: Name dropping Valentina’s name to make sure we got a renovated room (although we checked in at 1pm on a Monday so that might have helped too) and not bothering with the balcony. The windows are huge, and slide horizontally open. It was like having an incorporated balcony and it made the room bigger. I had also forgot to request a king bed, but it was just as well—we got a room on the top floor and the 2 doubles were already pushed together. It was plenty of bed for us! That’s all I can think of for now. The boyfriend may decide to add something later. Wish we would have taken more pics, but we were having too much fun to remember to! Great trip report. Glad you had a great time. I personally really enjoyed your pic's. Finally pictures not taken with an iPhone. . . LOL they turned out very nice. I thought there were temperature issues lately, had the pool warmed up while you were there? How about the Coyote Bar, were they still shutting down at 1am? Also see that the foam party was still going after dark? Looked that way in your pics. I may think of more questions later... Good trip report. Jeff
The pool temp was cool upon first getting in but you warm up quick. The sun "stays out longer" than at TTR. It doesn't seem to go behind the building until closer to 6 if I remember right. We were not watching the clock but we seemed to not make it back up to our rooms until closer to 6.
Towels Great report .One question thow....What is the beach towel situation? Is there enough to go around or would you recommend bringing our own?
They have a towel hut right by the pool. There is an attendant there but you do not need to give any sort of identification, room number, name, or deposit. We usually grabbed towels then took them to our room with us in the evening and cleaning service took care of them from there. Nice not having to worry about paying for a lost towel.
