For some reason I don't remember the resort even having conditioner. And I know that sunscreen is cheaper at home, but in Mexico that have that stuff with the little bear on it that smells like bubble gum. I actually buy a couple bottles and bring it with me home. I love it. I may be weird.
I may have to rethink the whole checking bags deal, I was ready to check a big bag until Steves updated post on the taxi cab situation, when he said that Brant stated it was taking 3 hrs from landing to being able to retrieve bags and leaving the airport due to unusual high volumes, ouch I can handle an hour but 3, knowing I am just minutes from sitting at the pool and sipping on a drink, may give me the shakes, LOL :ernaehrung005:
If there is a high number of flights arriving the same time as yours, it's the queue at immigration which holds you up, not waiting for baggage. If we've ever had a long immigration line, our baggage is already off the conveyor by the time we get there. Our last 2 trips have been supremely quick, 45 mins from landing to poolside, with 2 checked cases! :daisy:
The first thing you'll do at the airport when it's really busy is go through the loooong immigration lines. That can take a really long time when the room is full. Traveling with carry-on luggage only won't save you any time here. Others who have traveled recently can chime in with their experiences too...but whenever the lines for immigration are long, my luggage seems to be waiting for me on the carousel by the time our passports are stamped. Your checked bags are making their way to the carousel the entire time you're taking 10,000 baby steps through the immigration lines. Do you really want to live out of a tiny carry-on for a week to save yourself 15-30 minutes?
Hi all Getting your luggage does not take long at all.:lotsofmichaelfs: One travel tip though. Dont pack his and her suit cases, split your stuff into both cases. Just in case one does go missing then atleast both of you have some thing. I have never heard of anyone loosing luggage.:xyxthumbs:

Looks like the wife has answered my question for me without me even asking any questions, just looked at the shoes and high heels being packed.......long story short, Were checking bags, don't know what I was thinking. plus the cost of the travel sized must haves, aren't going to happen, once again thanks for the input, hopefully landing on Monday morning will be slower than the weekends, but if it takes 3 hrs like Brant said, guess what?? it takes 3 hrs, at that point it'll be vacation time, not hurry time. Compared to the ice and snow we are in now, I will wait for 3 hrs in the warmth and in Mexico no problem. Getting closer and cant wait to experience all the fun stuff, everyone has been talking about. March 3rd cant get here fast enough.:ernaehrung015:
I've never arrived on a Monday - but I'd bet anything you'll be fine. We're coming in on a Wednesday and hoping to breeze on through. Like you said - you're in Cancun on vacation, so don't let a line get you down. Where would you rather be - a line there or your desk at work?
Travel Tip Here is another tip: Got this off CCC last year. When you get through imagration and your leaving for the USA Transfer you will pass all the booths trying to sell you trips and all that crap. Here it is and it works . Split up so you look like a single and no one will even look at you !!! We did that on our 3rd trip and not one person approached us. The first 2 time we were bombarded with sir sir come look at my stuff. That was every ten feet. So split up just 20 feet will do it. Smooth sailing to your ride :biggrinbandit:
