I'm bringing the Boyfriend this year. He's the kind of Maine-type that will wear shorts and a t-shirt everywhere. Seriously. Everywhere. That being said, I know that they won't let that fly for lingerie night and at the restaurants? Ideas of the least dressed up things I can make him buy? Any warnings? I don't want to have to go alone cause he's not dressed up enough (but I will leave him - so there is that )
Seriously, with the exception of the restaurants that require reservations, he'll be fine in most anything.
Don't they have to wear boxers or something like that at lingerie night? What should be the dress for the reservation restaurants? I've never paid attention
To get into the "nice shoes" lounge yes he needs boxers. After the nice shoes event wraps up then folks head outside to Patyo's and he is ok in his normal clothes. We stay dressed in our lingerie and he wears collar & tie, cuffs and boxers. Many people and I think all the fun people stayed dressed in lingerie. It's way more fun to participate than to dress in street clothes. Maybe he will play along, let loose and enjoy it!
It's not that he's against participating. He literally doesn't own anything else and has no interest in shopping. :-/
Just shop for him. Dave does my shopping and I do his.... It's great to see what we pick for each other. This will be our first trip in June, but we have had a blast "dressing" each other already! The pre trip fashion shows are great!
But I'm trying to figure out what to get him. It's his first time, I just want him to get into places.
So...I almost got caught in my naughty school girl outfit by our 8 year old son. Would not have been fun to explain. And I'm sure he would have literally yelped and said "Well, this is awkward!!!" Moral of the story: one must be very careful with pre-trip fashion shows if one has small children!
If you /he just want to get the bare minimum, then for lingerie night he needs boxers, silk pj pants, or something smaller and no shirt. For the Italian and Japanese restaurants the dress code, while not always enforced, says long pants and closed-toed shoes for men. But what fun is that?
