Liquor, at the airport shops

You can only buy liquor in the airport duty free when you depart.

 

There is a Duty Free store in Terminal 3 between immigration and customs as you arrive.

 

sorry, not true..me and my GF always buy liquor in the Duty Free when we arrive

 

Terminal 3 must not be the terminal we usually land at, I stand corrected.

 

Is Terminal 3 area where baggage claim is? No issues going through customs with duty free bought from Cancun airport?

 

I read on another forum that you can buy alcohol upon arrival at duty free in Terminal 3, but NOT in Terminal 2.

Either way, we're just going to bring it. I found it in plastic travel bottles and TSA regulations state that I can put up to 5 liters of alcohol in my checked bag. Challenge accepted!

 

Fireball is our shot drink of choice. I have never seen it anywhere in Cancun including the airport. Customs allows you to bring up to 3L of alcohol per person in your checked bags. Last year we brought 4 750mL bottles. That lasted one and a half days.

 

We always come in at Terminal 2. Guess its different from 3.

 

They have it at Wal Mart

 

All of the Canadian and some American charter airlines come in at terminal 2 which doesn't let you go through duty free on the way in. Most of the mainline carriers from the US land at terminal 3 which does let you, hence the conflicting information.

How can you tell I've been through the Cancun airport a few times? lol
