How much per day of the 5-7k plus you paid (Im just guessing) up front would figure into that. Im just trying to figure it out.
We are sorta starting to agree. I mean, we love, love the people and the fact that we can reunite once a year for fun in the sun, but somewhere along that line, common sense has to take hold. Im not willing to fork out 2 months of house payments for 1 week of fun. To each his own.

is cheaptickets.com an American company? do you pay in Canadian or American dollars. Because there is two sites Cheap Hotels, Flights, Airline Tickets, Airfare, Vacations, Rental Car & Cruises at CheapTickets. or cheaptickets.ca. and huge difference in prices.
We have friends who go to their favorite online site, punch in their specific dates with nonstop flights for their closest airport...find a higher price than they expected and then either book and complain that the hotel has jacked their prices or decide they can't afford it and stay home. We check every legit online site, compare rates for 3 or 4 different months, every combination of travel days of the week, 3 different airports within 3 hours of our city, search for valid promo codes, look at flights with an acceptable layover. To some this might seem tedious, but planning a trip is actually part of the fun. Good prices are out there if you can be a little flexible and are willing to do some legwork.
Not as cheap as years past but as the economy continues to improve demand goes up - All the recent trip reports has said the resort is at capacity or oversold. Plus TTR Cabo closed down almost 2yrs ago and those 150 rooms are off the market. Steve Boobs Cruise increased from $70 to $85 per person in less than 2yrs due to higher costs + higher taxes (sales tax increased from 10 to 15%). That's a 21.4% increase. Rates were $135- $190 2yrs ago - factor in that 21.4% and you get = $164 - $231. Premier members also got hit with a big rate increase +20%. Not sure where else everyone is vacationing for All Inclusive Adults Only for $165 to $230 a night but please do let us know!
We are EXACTLY the same way! We paid $2800 for 7 nights (incl airfare) out of the maritimes! We fly in and out on a Thursday. Its usually quite expensive to fly ANYWHERE from New Brunswick. We looked into flying from 5 airports (one was in the US) over a three month period. This was the best deal.
We got a better nightly price when we called and spoke to an agent instead of just booking online. Saved about $300.
