I'm overwhelmed with just that. No WAY I'm sitting down to talk about all that with someone during my vacation! lol
Here's OUR opinion only. Yes. But, we go places other than TTR. The SFX program, on it's own, got me into a 2-bedroom condo on Maui this coming August for a week. Price usually $600/night. The SFX timeshare swap thingee got it to me for $455 for the WEEK! Earlier this year, I used the SFX thing in a different way, just to get a special rate at Grand Case Beach Club on St. Martin (Netherlands Antilles), and Stacia & I got a beachfront condo (loaded... full kitchen, front room, dining room, big ass bathroom, canopy king bed, decks opening from the front room & the bedroom which looked out over the Atlantic and the beach) and we saved $3,000 on that week's stay vs. the usual rate. So, just in 2014 using the SFX program that came with the TTR membership I've saved ... aroundseven grand maybe? So, the membership is going to have paid for itself in that way in 4 years, since we're going to keep going and doing. We like the bennies that the membership has at TTR and Desire, but that's not where We've found the financial advantage.
They try do the sell in within 2 hours since they like to close by noon (and I mean close the premier room not just the deal). If you do a referral trip and have to listen to the spiel or just want to get stiff drinks early in the morning (with no intentions of actually listening to their pitch) it is a good go. The program does work for some btw...I just go to be buzzed by 10 am and to take a nap by the pool later, lol.
All depends on how you use the membership will determine how good of a deal it is. Like you, it is working for us and we haven't used the SFX thing yet.
I think Premier can work for some people, but it definitely doesn't work for all. I also think that some say it works for them even if it doesn't, just as a natural justification to themselves to maybe defend a rash buying decision. If you travel there and other places frequently, have a big network of friends who want Referrals and fly from the US it can work out advantageous. If you visit once a year for a week and if you're flying in from the UK or Canada it's unlikely to be cost effective. I looked at it a few years ago and it wouldn't work at all for us, already living in Cancun, not staying very frequently and not interested in paying for the extra 'perks'.
Let it go Tim...We all understand the membership doesn't work for you. That's fine. What I don't understand is every time someone posts a question about the Premier membership you jump on here and bash it. Why? Are you upset with yourself that you didn't join years ago? Are you upset because you truly don't understand how the membership works? Maybe you were unable to negioate a deal to fit your needs. Only you know the answer to these questions... We enjoy our membership for many reasons including cost savings. My trip for later this month cost me $52 which includes airfare. It has taken some effort over the years but it works for us...The price you are paying is a very good price. I'm not sure when you are going since different seasons reflect different prices but regardless you got a good deal. Enjoy your trip & forget about this membership stuff. It doesn't work for you. I hope to meet you sometime @ TTR & have a few drinks together...But for now let it go :daveandmo:
Basically, it boils down to you partially paying up front for future trips. If it would save us lots of $$$$, Id jump on it. But only going once or twice a year, and flying from Dallas with cheaper airfare (from being closer), its not for us.
Yes Tim , but you got to remember , they get Fancy white towels, segregated seating areas, better drinks, personal butlers, better rooms, all for the low price of 5 to 25 g. I have had people pm me their contract details , believe me they're far from being rosy like the ones on hear. The whole Canada thing is that our airfares are usually more and by booking a package we get a lower rate. We lose that rate when doing airfare only. And Tim keep on posting , don't let your self be silenced, you were just responding to a question. Don't listen to the bullies.:bash: The attack can get quit personal (speaking from experience) when commenting on the pros and cons of MEMBERSHIP. A lot of members take it personally for some reason, they don't make the rules, Premier does and most of us are smart enuf to know that.
Come on Donald...You're an intelligent man. You know we also get the poolside waiter & an extra pillow! :wink3:
I had the waiter covered under the Butler,, but " Extra Pillows'' come on man, that too much. :daveandmo:
