I think everyone's wished they'd play something different at the sexy pool at one time or another but what would you like to hear? Me (Andrew), my first love is old school punk but that's probably not going to work for most people, still, I'm a child of the 80's so I liked all the "New Wave" stuff too (don't judge me lol). I think my favourite musical decade was the 90's and I think some of the more pop bands would work, like No Doubt, Sublime, Offspring. I do enjoy the club/dance music they play (even at 50yo) but some older stuff worked in would be nice. I know the missus would love to hear some Bon Jovi. So, what would you play?
I think that the sexy pool needs more Hula Hoops. Like about 40 or so hanging around the railing on the outside. And there should also be some colored dots painted in various places all over the bottom of the pool in the 2" deep part. And maybe some of those little 3' trampolines. And midgets with bottles of tequila running around feeding people shooters. And he should wear a Mexican wrestler mask. And a thong. And there should be a zipline from the 5000 block to the stool by the swim up bar. And the place also needs a photo-booth with room for about 4 but you could pack in about 10. And they should take that hot tub off the Premiere deck and put it on a raised pedestal in the sexy pool about 10' above the water. And it should slowly spin. And they should play music that is conducive to all that.
I think they should have a raffle everyday and whoever wins gets to be the guest DJ for an hour, say 2 to 3 in the afternoon, it sure would be interesting and you would get to here a cross section of music. If everyone joined you should get music that was in ratio to the crowd. If 40% of the crowd liked classic rock, over a week they should have win the raffle 40% of the time. Of course there is always the long shot and the guy who like Perry Como could win everyday.
There is far too much awesomeness in this post. I want to party at Dave and Audrey's resort!! Lets add a jello wrestling pit, too. With a jello waterfall of course. Unfortunately the music conducive to all that has been found to melt people's brains.
We like to hear a variety, that is pretty heavy with club/dance music. Mix in a few country and harder rock classics, along with some Mexican party songs, and you should have it down pat. We also would prefer not to hear the same songs over and over, although you can never have too much Pitbull. A long time ago, Rafa played Gasolina about every hour. Great song, but not quite that good. To be honest, the TTR music is great compared to most other resorts. The DJ at TTR Cabo played Bread, America, and another lame artist back to back to back during the middle of the afternoon. Talk about a good way to kill the buzz around the pool.
