Yes, agree with this 100%! Just want an honest expectation set. I feel like GOV came out of the gate talking a good game but is now sort of back-tracking. We don't care about getting hammered at 9 AM either and being too sloshed to have fun the rest of the day night. But just like you said, we'd prefer to have a build up into the evening hours that may carry into the wee hours.
You guys could do a "take over week" at Motel 6 and have fun! 66 people could have fun anywhere! We just want to watch!
I have personally met Valetina and all I can say is she goes way above and beyond her management position at GOV. Just the fact alone that she is on here posting when she has a minute to do so and is still learning how the forum works. There is a thread called "ASk thenGov management here" yet a lot of people keep asking questions in the wrong spot which only makes her job harder trying to find them so she can respond, keep in mind also she needs to get answers from her boss too before she comments. More importantly she is answering your questions from her home when she is not working at the resort all at the same time she is taking care of her new baby girl. Do you see anyone from TTR doing anything remotely like this..... NO Has TTR been asked and giving the opportunity to join CCC...... YES This forum has been around for 10+ years, so my guess they don't care! We have seen many threads over the years about people asking if there is another TTR anywhere in the entire world and there isn't. GOV doesn't want to be another TTR, they simply are providing another adults only topless resort with updated renovations still underway. If you want to party really hard on your vacation you need to be prepared ahead of time. Jodie and I have gone to Cuba and stayed at Playa ala Mayda resort which is run by the Iberostar Brand. Even that resort was a blast, why..... Because we brought our A Game with us and made our own party the way we love to party. If your going to any resort for your hard earned vacation money and expect them to entertain you? You are going to have a really bad time anywhere you go. Like my good buddy there "The Concrete Floor Licker" .... mr summerbum himself, where else do you see people making complete asses of themselves and having a great time, the answer is anywhere you see someone laughing their asses off, playing games that are not normal at home and fully enjoying there holiday. Just go up to random strangers and start talking with them, if your that bored more than likely they are too, but once you have done this several times all of a sudden you several new friends and it's only day 1. Btw keep in mind how many negative reviews there are about TTR? If you believed those reviews, would you have taking the chance and gone there?
I would say it is boring. We were just at Desire for 4days at Christmas and it is big-time boring. A happy funeral. And it is hardly upscale. There is no sexy vibe or adult fun, unless you like taking baths with others. Tried to get out 16hrs after arrival, back to mecca. But TTR was full.(isn't it always?) Desire is someone's idea of a bad joke. Fun or sexy NOT.
And we absofricknlutely luv your group Dan. And that group brings the party. I have a feelin' they ain't leaving to go to no chill sexy vibe wannabee hotel. Although it would be a gold medal moment to see TnT rock Gov with day passes. See you in April
We would also volunteer for a room near the club ... it's no different at TTR if you're by the Paty'O bar - it's like having the dj in the room with you there too but it doesn't matter to us, we won't be sleeping at 1am anyway! :lotsofmichaelfs:
We've been to Desire close to 20 times, but to be honest, we haven't been back now in about 2 years, for numerous reasons. So maybe it is as bad as you suggest these days. As for Desire not being upscale, that is true. It's certainly not the Four Seasons, yet it blows away TTR on every level except the quality/diversity of the crowd, IMO. Still not worth the ridiculous prices they have started to charged, which changes the type of crowd in attendance. Heard TTR has started jacking prices too, but overall it's still a cheap holiday so we put up with the shortcomings. Obviously you are a big fan of TTR, and we like it too, but we don't love it the way some people do. To suggest it's the mecca of adult party holidays might be a stretch, no? There is a fine line between sexy and juvenile, and that line is often crossed at TTR. Clearly there is a reason why people are looking for alternatives to TTR.
One thing we can't criticize GOV on is the effort that Mario, Valentina and Paco made in meeting with Steve yesterday. I posted a question a few days ago as to the direction the resort was heading and I think the question was answered. Now it just remains to be seen if it comes to fruition. I hope so and my wife and I are keeping our fingers crossed as this place does sound like the type of resort we would truly enjoy. I think that the more guests from CCC go there and the continued transformation of the resort to the hip, sexy vibe that they are aspiring to be, the more the resort will become their ultimate vision. Again Valentina, a big thank you. Lenni said it best in one of his postings about the effort you and GOV are putting forth is over and above anything that TTR has ever done for Steve and this website. Looking forward to continuing to watch this transformation going forward.
I just said the same thing last night! Our first room at TTR was literally one set of steps from Paty O's. LOL, it was like being IN the DJ booth. We didn't mind at all though because we weren't in the room till LONG after they stopped playing music most nights
