I know this has been discussed over and over again :deadhorse: And sorry to bring it up again, but it is more as a warning for those getting ready to head out. We just got back after being there from Jan 21-28 and cameras were a major issue this trip. Bad enough that it is making us doubt we will return again. There were very, very disrespectful people taking pictures all day and night, of the pool, beach, games, and everything. They weren't stopping and it was an argument to get them to delete the pics. During Iron Man Paloma announced twice no pictures and called people out, but yet they still were taking them. During Anything Goes a guy took pics of 20+ topless women on stage. I called him out and one guy from our group went over and watched him delete over 10 pictures. There was even a guy video recording the Boobs Cruise coming back on the 27th from the beach. Staff and security does not seem to be doing anything about it either. The no pictures announcement isn't made until after there is a problem, if at all, and wasn't announced at Lingerie casino until half way through. We had a guy at paty-os creeping a bit that did ask to take a picture. We kindly said no. His response...I'll get the picture with my camera anyway. He was sitting in the premier reserved cabana thing (yeah that was another disappointment) and set the camera pointing at us on the table the entire night. Said something to security and they never did anything. They had a it isn't hurting anything or anyone attitude. Maybe because he was Premier, maybe because they just didn't care. But it ruined that night for us and the cameras really affected our trip. So...folks be on the look out for the cameras and a sausage fest (major sausage fest and a huge number of older people like 70-80 age this year which affected the mood of the resort some). I know I've been randomly Google searching and checking for pictures and such since we got back.
Thanks for the heads up. I am pretty sure a camera perched on a table all night will end up meeting some sort of liquid if that happens when we are there.
Wow this is usually enforced. I would HIGHLY recommend that you email the resort manager directly and voice your concerns. This has gotten THEM in trouble in the past and if it is getting out of control again I would say they will want to clamp down on it again.
That is really a bummer. I dislike hats but I really need to wear them for protection and never do. I guess this is another good reason to wear that hat!
It's always fun to explain the rule to the gawkers, "We don't want you to take pictures of our shenanigans... except Brandie... She can take 5000 pictures of whatever she wants but you can't. Seriously dude, that's the rule".
We had this problem last year once. All it took was for some of the hubbys to see and it was taken care of. That phone/camera ended up at the bottom of the pool. Thank You Ryan and John if I remember correctly. Needless to say that gentlemen got the stink eye the whole trip. Why must there be such inconsiderate people. Dave, I know you would have our backs should anything happen if a few weeks. Can't wait to see everyone.
Yeah, it happens year after year. I actually talked to that greazy 90 year old gross guy with emphysema. He was rolling up his newspaper and putting his camera in it and taking pics of Brandy hula-hooping. I went over to him and calmly told that either I was going to be deleting the pics that he just took or his camera was going in the pool. He just gave me his camera real fast and wasn't a problem again. That was weird. I'd be way more comfortable being the enforcer on a 20 something guy that a 90 something. Cause seriously, the dude is 90, what am I going to do if he doesn't comply?
The kids phone that ended up in the pool by Ryan, I told him 3 times to get lost, its his own fault. It was my first year there, but out of respect for my new found friends, I will happily enforce the rule as well. There is clearly a no picture rule set by TTR, it just needs to be enforced again. You either know the people in the picture or you dont take it. If worst comes to worst ask permission.
Isn't the no picture rule just for during the poolside events? I hate opening this can of worms (again!) but if nobody was allowed to take any pictures ever then peoples albums would be pretty boring lol I think taking pics in a respectful way is what everyone wants. Try and make sure there's nobody in the background, don't be a creeper etc. Even the resort takes pics and posts them on Facebook etc.
This has been a big concern for me since lurking on CC. So disappointing to hear it's still bad. Especially since the other places we've been (Hedo, Desire, Hidden Beach) have a clear, safe ethos of no pics. Concerned enough that we may not participate in any of the games, for fear of showing up on youtube or whatever. Please do contact management and let them know, in hopes they'll crack down within 12 days.
