By the way we have officially given up on GOV being what we hoped it would be by May (close to the TTR party but with the benefit of nicer food, room, beach and real hot tubs). The trip reports are showing that GOV is trying for more of an adult party style but so far not close to TTR style and maybe never, only time will tell.

The real hot tubs turn out to be two small ones that are just now free and two small ones near the spa that cost $11 an hour.

Although the food reports are definitely way better than TTR there are all sorts of complications... one amazing restaurant that is almost impossible to get into, other restaurants that frequently run out of food, long wait times, etc.

Generally speaking the rooms appear to be nicer with better views but mixed in are several reports of not being able to get king beds and flooding. Problems that also exist at TTR but not the overwhelming win we expected.

The clear win for GOV is the beach. We love the beach but not at the expense of a party. Apparently there are only 12 chairs at the pool. People are spread out with no party during the day, limited activities, lines for drinks, etc.

And most importantly on the Party comparison side the party stinks. Bars still closing at 1am (although they say that is changing), very few topless, not much entertainment, limited dancing at night, etc.

So we are sorry but we won't be able to provide a review of GOV in May. I have cancelled our reservation and am booking Pearl for the full week. But this does make it easier knowing that TTR is still the winner for October! Hopefully see you all Oct 3rd - 10th!

So here is a question, what was your favorite theme night that you want to see repeated for Octoberbreast 2014? Or is there a new one you hope is added?

Don't blame you for canceling your GOV reservation. We weren't willing to risk the party atmosphere for a potentially better facility. Hopefully they'll figure out how to be a viable competitor to TTR.

If they'd just let the Octoberbreasters set all the rules, they could learn how to throw a party!

Theme night ideas:

Anything but clothes
Sexy burlesque
I think since it's October and it's breast cancer awareness month we should do a pink night
CEOs and office hoes
Playboy night (girls dress as playboy bunnies)

These are just a few ideas

 

My favorite theme was sheer night by far! But I think I said that before

I think I even liked it better than Lingerie as people expected Lingerie outfits at paty o's, nice shoes and around the resort. But when the group walked in with the sheer outfits the mouths definitely dropped open in record time lol
