Hi everyone, We recently spent 24 fun filled hours at TTR "just to try it out" now we are hooked. Was there ever a doubt? Anyway, now deep in planning our next trip back for the end of March 2014 we are wondering about the quality and cleanliness of the "Temptation Suites". Described on the site like this "Temptation Suite with ocean front view and indoor Jacuzzi, new decor, every room includes a pull down privacy screen, modern decor that is highlighted with white, red and silver accents......." We are wondering are they updated? Has anyone stayed in them? Is it worth it? I suspect this has been answered on the forum but we have honestly searched for an answer to no avail! Thanks in advance for your response(s)
They are in the midst of renoing many things at TTR. The jacuzzi rooms do have a pull down shade. Everything you describe sounds right. Are they worth it? Depends on your wallet. We'd say no, but we mostly just read the Good Book and repent, when we find ourselves on another Temptation bender.
The Ocean front Jaccuzzi ''suites'' do not have pull down shades . The 2 person tubs are in the washrrom. The Jaccuzi ''rooms'', 90% have pull down shades and the 2 person tub is on the outside balcony. The suites are slightly larger with a couch and longer balcony. Picture of the ''Room"" Jaccuzi, The flowers is part of the Drops of Love Package.
Jacuzzi room We fully enjoy or jacuzzi room, booked for two years running and will be there in 8 more sleeps. The biggest benefit ,we think is your guaranteed a room on the "quiet"side. Which means good sleep. also ...we have heard that the jacuzzi is a damn good spot to have a party!!!! Hmmmmm we will see:musik026:
Temptation Suites are NOT the jacuzzi rooms. They are the rooms on the end caps of building 1. Go to the quite pool, walk out to the ocean, turn around... the balconies you see are the balconies of the four Temptation Suites. Now, are they worth it... well... OK they are huge! About twice the size of normal rooms.... but there in lies the first problem.. gettting the A/C to keep up. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. If you are having people over, it's a great room. If you like extra space or want a balcony with TRUE ocean view, it's wonderful. If you use your room to pass out in or just take showers in on the way to the next party, it's pricey. I've never rented but have visited.. all in all, not bad rooms.. had the chance to stay in them and passed. Jamie
For us, room upgrades would be a waste of money. We sleep in there (or pass out), fool around, and shower. I'll spend an hour on the balcony with a beer while Jamie gets ready and maybe a cup of coffee in the morning. Rather than pay for a the pleasure of a thin sliver of ocean view or a Jaccuzzi, I'll put the money toward a longer trip. We just go with the basic Garden View room and spend our time OUTSIDE the room.
Last year we sprang for a jacuzzi suit. The room was located on the far side of the quiet pool and was a standard sized room with a two person jacuzzi bath tub on the porch. Would not do it again. The best location in the whole resort is the ground floor between Patty O's and the sexy pool IMO. These room are close to the action 24/7.
I think people frequently confuse jacuzzi room and jacuzzi suite. Jacuzzi room = around the quiet pool. Regular size room with jacuzzi tub on the porch/balcony. Partial view of the ocean if you stretch your neck. Could also be a view of the back of the restaurant too. Have shades on the majority. A few do not where building height changes. There are about 30 of these (guestimate). Has cost us $50 to upgrade on site but have heard of others having to pay $100. Jacuzzi suite = on the end of the U shaped building around the quiet pool. These are directly facing the ocean. Amazing view. Jacuzzi tub is in the bathroom with a rain shower. There are no shades. Balcony is very large with couch and other seating. Room is not larger than regular room. Bathroom is larger due to the jacuzzi tub area. There are 2 on each end of the U, so I believe there are 4 total. Cost us $75 to upgrade on site in October but this took much negotiation and is not the normal rate. I would expect $100 min. So we like the jacuzzi room. Liked having a place to entertain for evening cocktails or late night or to hang if it was cold and rainy. Yes they are tiny but still worth it for us if the price is right. We loved the jacuzzi suite due to the amazing view and large balcony which was great for entertaining also. The jucuzzi tub was slightly larger than the jacuzzi room balcony tubs and was round. Still not very big though. They filled up much faster than the balcony tubs and the rain shower going into them was nice. We would likely upgrade again for $75, $100 maybe, probably not for more. The biggest negative of the room was there were absolutely zero drawers! I was told that there is a larger one that has room for a dresser but ours did not have a dresser. Not the end of the world as we used the closet and our bags but something to consider. Here are some pics of the balcony and room from our album. I have pics of the jacuzzi tub and overhead rain shower but they all have me or Jen naked in them so I will have to photoshop them first and add later. Note there is an indoor couch too. Nice to be able to view the ocean from bed.
We stayed in a jacuzzi room last time and our friends had a jacuzzi suite. They aren't the same. The suite is nice for entertaining and the view is amazing. The suite does not have a jacuzzi on the balcony, it is inside. We hung out there with our group of friends because it was the biggest room with the best view. We only used our balcony jacuzzi in our plain ol' jacuzzi room once or twice, so we aren't getting it again this year.
I would add to the side that is not in love with the suites. To us they are too far away from everything. They are certainly more spacious, which is one drawback to the typical TTR room, but we didn't feel it made up for the other things lost as far as convienence.
