Its like anything, in Alberta drinking age is 18 you cannot get into a bar until then. Yes there are ways around everything however if you get caught you can get in trouble.. so why take the chance in Mexico. Not sure but isn't the drinking age in the States 21... would you take her to a bar at home?

I hate to say this.....so nobody feel offended if you disagree but......it's breaking a hotel policy.....not a law. I'm quite certain many of us have broken a hotel policy.....like semi public sex????? Anyway I'd try a couple of things OTHER than emailing. They are probably not going to publicly allow you to break the rules but when checking in they might look the other way. Since you have paid I'd try checking in and hope they don't check the age. I don't think they will. The other thing is you could check in separately than the rest of your group and check in using another girls passport that looks similar. Really doubt they will super analyise the picture. They basically just make a copy. And then after that do everything possible to be respectful and act your age (unlike me) to ensure there is no reason for you to be challenged during your trip

 

True enough Huskerman, however using someone else's passport is breaking the law.
I personally don't care if someone under 21 gets into the resort and in the past I'm positive I've met people under 21 at the resort. But why take the chance that the person is turned away. Like I said TTR isn't going anywhere.
and your right many of us have broken hotel rules/policy however we've also heard about people being kicked out.

 

Agreed. I guess when making this statement I was assuming everything has been paid for and non-refundable. Which means the results of not going or going and getting kicked out are almost the same. in other words you might find yourself booking at another resort IF you get kicked out. Kind of a tight spot they are in. I'd probably try it knowing I better have a credit card ready to book somewhere else if it doesn't work. But.....also knowing that the whole time she is there.....if she gets in.....needs to as if she is on probation and not risk getting singled out or questioned.

I should add clarification. Not saying this is a route people should take trying to break the rules and system. Was just putting myself in their predicament if they had "accidently" reserved without realizing the age thing could be an issue.

 

By the way....public nudity and sex is illegal in Mexico too:icon_eek:. I'm glad that isn't enforced.....i'd still be in jail.
