I think what would happen is that the quiet pool would become Sexy Pool II. There weren't a dozen people in it when we were there.

I wish they just wouldn't let you reserve a chair. If you aren't sitting in the chair, then it's up for grabs.

    Thanks for the update Steve!

In order to do this renovation:

Remove 60-90 rooms from service, remove the Embarcadero buffet from service, remove Paty'O from service and for roughly two years for all of these.

Assume those rooms are on average 85% booked and Temptation now has a Revenue & Expense problem.

We're not sure we see this huge renovation happening?

Sexy pool will be severely impacted by the construction as its so damn close to Embarcadero.

Majority of guests who learn about the construction will choose not to go and and this is no 2-3week project they can keep under wraps, by doing this they end up driving away there guests to other resorts like the GOV - Not sure how many they would get back at the end of this two year project.

Not sure Original Resorts is willing to deal with the massive vacancy rates that will accompany this costly construction project.

Maybe this was a grand plan prior to the competition opening there doors - but now?

Regarding chairs, know the rules, play by them. Do you want to have to find new chairs after lunch, after to go in the pool? Past that point, it would be really nice to know what the potential schedule and what they plan to do to accommodate the clientele.

I think what they are talking about for Paty O's would be more of a roll on tarp for rainy nights. Unless it seals, I don't think that would count as 'inside' myself.

Not sure how I'll like the more highrise version of the place. I'd rather they build out and not up. But the owners didn't get rich by making poor building decisions, or not knowing how to run a resort.

Once we have a good picture (come on artist renderings) of how it's going to look I'm sure most of us will be pleased.

I could imagine them closing down for a month or two for major demolition and ground work though. The sounds of jackhammers and dumptrucks wouldn't be that appealing to most lol.

Sounds like a bit of an unwelcomed expansion. We have been to a Sandals during an expansion and it really sucked. Personally think an expansion this big would hurt more than help. Stick with updates to the resort you have now..another daytime bar wouldn't hurt and some of the rooms around the quiet pool could use some sprucing up. Just My Humble Opinion..

    Interesting changes!

I think it's good that Nice Shoes and the sports bar will be improved (although I think it's also a good idea for a resort to have a chill place with pool tables)...
But I'm not so sure that more rooms really solves any of the 'problems' that TTR'ers feel they have?

PattyO's cover...Would be nice during the rain, but I agree the smoke would be a turn off for us non-smokers.

That is what this sounds like, but what Temptation needs is renovation, not expansion. I'm sure the owners would like as large a resort as they can fill, but I think it is a good size right now. They need to concentrate on making improvements, not on adding rooms. Combining Nice Shoes & the Alternative bar, and putting some sort of roof over Paty'Os sounds like a good place to start.

I don't think they would allow smoking...we're smokers and its about the only place while socializing we somewhat feel ok to smoke.. We think they should do something with the cigar lounge. We understand many people are offended with smokers.. yes our habit our problem.. but us smokers like to vacation also... Even if we are going to die young Donald and not be around to collect our pension...LOL
