This Alpharooms deal is the best for those dates, if the $650pp rate is real. We may not be able to go that soon, I just wanted to know generally speaking what the different room categories were, and if we could book the cheapest rate with Alpharooms and get the normal room (without twin beds - yuck!).

SultryFox..........we booked with Expedia and they also wanted a huge amount to upgrade to a better room. We ended up booking the standard/base room and then emailed Valentina (a GOV Manager) directly and had her book the upgrade to a "Spice" room for $23/night for us......larger room with King bed. I believe all rooms are ocean view. If you read back on this thread or a few others that Valentina has been responding to, you will see her contact info and good info about the resort that she has been posting.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers

Every single room is ocean view, it's just the way the hotel is set up, and if I know Sultry fox she will want one of the rooms with the hot tubs that are above the buffet over looking the Maughty Pool.

Once you get there you can also ask for a tour of the room and then upgrade too, she or one of her staff will show you the different rooms. Mainly one side of the hotel has showers only in the bathrooms and the other side has both shower and bath tub which is great for us as Jodie loves to have her 180 degree baths nightly.

Do they have a gym? I thought I saw it mentioned in the brochure but didn't see it on the website.

I did see some pics of the gym in a recent Tripadvisor review - it didn't appear to be, lets say "full featured". no better or worse than TTR from what I saw

300 calorie workout twice a day works good on vacation

We agree on the music. We own a mobile entertainment company and cater to many different events weddings, corporate parties etc. The music at TTR has always been a pet peeve. The first couple of times we went... fun! The 6 times after that with the same songs and thump thump thump..... Boring! Our experience tells us that you play to your guests. Every event (or night) in this case is different. Read the crowd. Preset playlists don't work. And with the broad age ranges and backgrounds play a bit of something for everyone!
