I went to look at prices tonight and noticed that they have redesigned their website. It looks great and functions well - but there is no pricing for the US. I can always convert the price, but does that mean that they are no longer accepting US bookings? Another issue I encountered is it will not let me check in on a Monday, only Sunday. It keeps changing the date on me when I click check rooms. I will check again tomorrow and if something is really hinky - I will email alpharooms - just thought I would ask here first to see if I missed an important announcement. Oh no!! This website was soo much cheaper than Applevacations (which is what we previously used). :sauer005: I hope this isn't a permanent change ~Jill~
Ugh, indeed they have changed their website. Check it out here Alpharooms It's going to take a little time to work out how to navigate it myself and I'll also try and get in touch with the contacts I have there. Slightly worrying that at the very bottom of the site it says: "Powered by Tripadvisor" I wonder if they have sold the company?
Thanks for your speedy response Steve! I checked your link and it does go to the new site. Another problem I encountered is that they are restricting the booking dates... :aktion060: I look forward to hearing if you find anything out. ~Jill~
I sent a message to my Alpharooms facebook contact and also an email. I looked at their new site myself and cant find a USD option either. Will keep you informed on what I hear back.
Just an fyi, we just booked hotel only through applevacations because it was less than alpharooms. I was a little surprised, but have had good experiences with apple in the past, so decided to go with it.
I checked Alpharooms last week for our trip to TTR in July and they were $1000 more than Cheaptickets, etc...!!!!! Thats insane!
I pretty sure that in Jamaica , some resorts won't even accept reservations from folks booking on Alpharooms, if they had a US passport. The ones that did would often demanded extra $$$ from the traveler. That caused a lot of grief for a lot of people, Kinda figured that would change "somehow". The US travelers were very hesitant to pay extra, just because they were from America.
i was wondering the same thing. i went to the alpharoom site yesterday and didn't see a usd option. keep us updated on this. a lot of us have used alpharooms over the years...thx steve
