I'm trying very hard not to be negative here, just objective. Most of the things people like about Temptation (listed above) are to do with the atmosphere, the guests who visit there, and the staff. Most gripes are about the facilities not being as good as they could be, the food and drinks could be better and management not listening or acting upon feedback. Staff: I have many friends who work there, some I've known for 10 years or more. That said, great customer service orientated hotel staff is not something that TTR has a monopoly over. It is a Mexican trait, not a Temptation one. Sure, we are familiar with our bartenders and waiters, they know us by name, they serve us well - but that's not to say that doesn't or can't happen anywhere else. It does. Clientele: People are people and they don't change their outlook on life or what they want from a vacation depending on where they happen to be. Mix alcohol, sunshine, adults only, topless/nakedness and fun loving people and you could have a great party anywhere. Atmosphere: It's the people and staff that make the atmosphere, not the chairs, the floor tiles, the pool temperature, the softness of the beds or the variety of soup at the buffet. Atmosphere is created by the people who participate in it - both staff and guests. Facilities: Renovations are rumoured but nothing yet announced officially. The hotel hasn't changed substantially in terms of renovations for maybe 8 years. This should be something we look forward to, not be fearful of. Management: We sometimes need to realise that hotels are run in different ways, there is no boiler template for a successful hotel. TTR is a family owned and run hotel and they will have different views and objectives to large worldwide chains whose aim is to largely serve shareholders. I personally think that 2014 and 2015 will be an exciting time for 'our kind' of people with more choices for us opening up in Cancun. How things end up who knows? My aim is (and always has been) to provide an open and uncensored forum for folks to air their views and keep people informed about developments in Cancun for those who like a 'sexy adults only concept' hotel in Cancun. The fact that there is another option on the horizon doesn't change that.
great points Steve , well said ! Atmosphere was a bang on paragraph and closing statement is so accurate !
Agree 100%, Steve. I especially agree about the customer service being a Mexican trait. I have vacationed in many different countries and keep coming back to Mexico as a favorite because the people are the most kind and hard working and best at customer service. I think the party is what you make it. I have only been to TTR once but am going to GOV next because if you can have great customer service and nicer amenities with the same atmosphere elsewhere for relatively the same price, why wouldn't you? We had a great time at TTR though and will likely be back at some point. I think in the end, TTR will benefit if they listen to their loyal customers and make the necessary changes to stay in the game/on top.
Was not sure where to post this so we figured this would be the best spot. Being Canadian and all eh we LOVE our Caesar’s to kick start our day. So question is does TTR have and make a decent Caesar? Are they missing any ingredients? (Cause we will stock up lol..)
They have the ingredients , you just have to tell them how you want it. Even their new cups are small for a Cesar, best to bring your own insulated cup.
With this being our first time and a gay couple, We LOVE all the positive posts about this resort and the people there. We have all our attire for the theme nights (we hope) and can't wait to start meeting new friends and having a GREAT time.
When are you guys going? We have met some super fantastic gay people there last year and are still friends with them today! I am straight, but I have no issues hanging out and teasing the bejeepers out of you hehe. :bootyshake:
