Next trip: Do you head to Temp yet again or do you give GOV a try?

We are looking at GOV for the first or second week of April. To make sure we have a good time we are bringing 2 other couples we met last year at TTR. It seems much cheaper and we dont like the construction going on at TTR. Moral of the story, get friends together and make your own party! Hope alot of TTR folks will join us!

 

I can only "imagine" the use(misuse) that GOVs Coyote Niteclub's stage is going to be put thru after Dec 13!!!! Our favorite bartender "Daniel" is mentally preparing himself for all of the topless gals. That never worked for me, but who knows??

 

As Steve rightly pointed out, many of us are 'locked in'. So how about we collectively reach out to GOV and see if they will honour our Premier memberships and provide a suitable incentive to try out their resort?

 

Our next trip to Cancun will be for sure checking out GOV - whether it is the whole trip will depend on trip reviews over the next few months. So far it sounds awesome!

 

They are offering a suitable incentive, lower price than your premier membership offers at TTR for your nightly rate and much nicer resort. That's a hell of a incentive !!!!!

 

Words can not describe how great this place looks (compared to TTR). Starts right as soon as you walk through the lobby doors and see the beautiful white powdered beach through the glass and breathe in the aroma therapy in the lobby. Step up to the check in desk and you actually received a SMILE. The tour we had lasted at least an hour and from what I can see we just need to bring the party. The facility is already there. 8 restaurants AND room service! Oh and for you coffee lovers, they do have an area off the lobby that is two sided...coffee/lattes on one side and MARTINIS on the other. The spa was awesome. Loved massage table on the beach! and real hot tubs. The beds on the beach and around the pool looked so CRISP...nice clean sheets. All this in a great location. Now you have something to do on a rainy day. Just walk out to the street to shop/eat. They also offer you transportation to the clubs and BACK again. FREE kinky pirate cruise! (Sure it's nothing like the Boob's cruise....that could never be replaced..wink wink Steve). Coyote Ugly looks great but ....needs to be larger. In time I am sure they will figure that out. I will be paying close attention to the reviews and only wish I was going in April BUT...family commitments prevent us from going until November. Sexy Sinaholics...you ready?

 

Awesome report JNP, we will take the tour next week very anxious to see the resort. We take 2-3 trips a year it will be nice to change things up a little. Thanks for the report,,,,,,

 

Seems like a good time to try Grand Oasis Viva

FYI last night I was able to get a $139 a night rate on orbitz for may at gov. Not sure if it is still available but worth a shot. They have a 55% off deal for Mexico adults only resorts. The deal comes up automatically in the price. Then in addition enter promo code celebrate. That takes an additional 15% off. You won't see the 15% off in the price until the page where you click to purchase/finalize the trip. In addition the hotel is fully refundable up until a couple days before. I cancelled my previously booked gov trip which was $170something a night and replaced it with this $139 a night one. Also note Temptations is not included in the promo. Their rate still ranges at $220-$260 a night during the same time period in May on orbitz. Seems like the perfect reason to give GOV a try before rates normalize. Our dates are now May 9-12 and then we are trying Pearl.

 

I checked the price in July and it's up to $254 per night (40% discount). If it goes down to $140 a night we will check it out for a night or two, but right now it's more than TTR.

 

Looks like the $163 rate which gets reduced to $139 with the code is good until June 30th. I assume they are offering such great rates for early in the year to try to get the place hopping with the new concept!
