Probably not TTR related, but I AM NOT impressed with Expedias Cancel for any reason trip insurance. Paid $118 for it, when we booked. Have been traveling in the Carribbean for 35 years( ever since Castro flew his Mig 21s to greet American Airliners). and this is the first time I had to use it. Bottom line, Delta gave us credit for ALL of the $$$ we had paid them. They did add on a $200 per person change fee. Expedia was supposed to refund the $400 immediatley, but haven't heard from them. The hotel refunded 5 of 6 nites. Expedia didn't. I suppose for actual hurricanes or medical reasons it might be worth it. The insurance thru Berkely is NOT cancell for any reason. I really doubt anyone has time to read all of the "fine print" that came with the deal. Didn't think you had to worry about that with Expedia.
I have also recently received a letter saying that the underwriters have changed they probably have different qualifications
That's a bummer... We had to use our trip insurance through expedia last april, and it was actually amazingly painless... They even paid for a town car since we had to fly into a different airport to come home due to our change in flights...
We had issues with Berkley last year also, when the airline couldn't find the plane?! We got stuck in Dallas overnight. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk
We recently had to use travel insurance thru Berkeley. Had to provide a lot of documentation including our sons medical info but we did get all of the funds we were due.
