I am similar to you... I like a little uppity when I'm on vacation... But at the same time, while TTR isn't as uppity as I would like, I still love it.
As I said earlier, we're not ruling out GOV, but TTR, even with its shortcomings, has blessed us with lifelong friendships and a place we can go and not feel judged. Paty O's, as cramped as it is, still allows for everyone to be together. My concern with the nightlife opportunities at GOV is that it will separate everyone. We just like having a good time with everyone, I guess...
It is good to have options We are presently booked for TTR from 5/9 - 5/16. While GOV is intriguing, Paul and I are going to watch and wait to see how it plays out. I am sure they will have "bugs" to iron out. We went to Aura in Cozumel after our TTR trip in 2012. Does anyone remember that they initially opened as a lifestyle/CO resort? That concept did not last long and it has been through 2 owners since I believe. We go to TTR for the people and the atmosphere. We know it, know what to expect and more importantly, no what NOT to expect. We do Fantasy Fest one year and Mexico the next. So 2016? If GOV is up and running smoothly in its new concept, we certainly will consider it. For now, we are dancing with the one that "brung" us.
Now "having" the option is a comfort factor. You add in upscale ammenities for less money it's hard to look away. We'll need a few "testers" to report back to the CCC folks so that next year................hopefully.............the TTR prices will come down. (From the other Jess N Paul) HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I don't expect it to be like a Hedo or anything, but I think the majority of people (nonswinging) will see the bracelets and think twice about booking there. Just my opinion.
I think that I am going to arrange for Kellie and I to take and spend one day/night there in July while we are in Cancun for our family vacation just to see what it is like when it is in full motion.
Very interesting! may give it a shot once I hear and see more reports from previous vacationers! Thanks Steve xo
