I didn't mention much about where the nightlife will take place. There are no outside areas like Paty O's. There is a large room/club inside called the Coyote Bar. I'd say this is about 2 to 3 times the size of Nice Shoes, with several stages, stripper poles, large bar, some huge communal type sofas. All my pictures turned out terrible so haven't posted them. I do wonder if there will be enough room in there if the hotel is full. At the same time I think there will be a different kind of atmosphere and I think the crowd will fragment to other bars at the resort and not all congregate in the same place. edit to add, I'll post some pics from their site (they said I could) There is also the Diva bar which I guess will also be a popular hangout:
thanks for the AWESOME research Steve! Very interesting. More people need to keep talking to people about this possibility. Certainly seems more upscale than TTR. And MORE people need to talk to the people at TTR too! Management need to know that we at CCC are a LARGE group of repeat clientele and WE are talking about interesting alternatives GOV! $$$$
your right about pics during the day. Those do look a lot better. Thanks again. trying to email them directly as we cannot book a suite thru a online engine.
When I messaged them and rec'd a reply, which was very quick, within 24 hours it was through a facebook message on the Grand Oasis Viva page. It had info on the new concept and I appreciated it. You could message there and ask if you book elsewhere, what is the upgrade cost for other rooms and can you book through other sites and contact Oasis Viva to prepay your upgrades to the suites you prefer. This is often a great option because you pay less than upgrading through a middleman. If the fb marketing person does not know then ask for an email to someone within the resort who can help. Once I have this info: I will call and confirm this and room type availability with the resort, then book with the least expensive wholesaler (usually bookit.com, one of the only not owned by expedia giant) ensure I have a confirmation number for the hotel. I then call or email the concierge at my chosen hotel or reservations, never central reservations, the actual resort, and use my CC and upgrade to what I want. When I arrive there is no buls#*t and I am by the pool in minutes. I am assuming as well they are scrambling a bit and don't know some of the answers some of you are asking. As with everything it will evolve into something some will love and some will not. I for one was not happy with my resort experience at TTR, but my food and room comfort is important to me, no problem with the party, but I like a great sleep and great food with options, so this may be for me. I don't like labelling a person or a place without experiencing it first myself. I wish them luck and think change is good. Thank you Steve and Janet for one of the best site inspection reports I have read.
So if we wear our cancuncare orange, we may be open.......lol I don't see alot green going on, everyone has a limit.
This is certainly looking to be a much nicer place then TTR......... Now will it will be as fun? Very close to booking ....
Personally I prefer nicer resorts. We booked Temptation soley because of this board and the people/environment they provide. I would be all for booking GOV is the price is right and the people are fun... I'm by no means a snob and we're not wealthy, but we like All inclusives to escape reality and feel a bit privileged/pampered. This place has a more luxurious look IMO. I'm by no means a prude, but I don't like over the top open sex. I would be put off of GOV if it's not listed as a swinger resort and I went and there was PDA/PDS other than a little kissing here and there and we're getting approached left and right. I am wondering if having the wristbands available will turn non-swingers away. I feel like it will. This resort will be an official swinger resort before you know it.
I don't think they will hit the mark with that market. I feel like they are going after the TTR style market. They may be marketing towards "lifestylers" to bring the sexy feel because they know that is the appeal as we have all seen at TTR. However that atmosphere is not conducive to the true blue swingers of say the Hedo set. IMO the bracelets are going to be heavily on the red and orange side rather than the green, but having the option right out of the gate and letting every guest know what they are will eliminate a ton of the guess work and approaching from others.
