Great report Steve.........very well done and inclusive. There is MUCH we like about what we hear.......and of course some drawbacks. We're not making reservations yet.......but will likely be at GOV for part of our stay. I'd love to see a "sub" board on GOV.......so people can post about their experiences there. Also.............I suppose non TTR people can sign up for your Boobs Cruises.........but they don't have to have TTR day passes do they?
We understand Desire, we like Desire - it is super laid back with a great relaxed sexual vibe about it What we don't get is how you replicate that with singles everywhere like GOV plans on doing. And then you have all the other Oasis hotel guests coming on over for a peek. This is why Desire does not allow Day Passes, no guest wants to feel like they are on display like an animal at the zoo. Hopefully GOV management come to there senses. TTR/Grand Parnassus/Desire - all have an abundance of vacancies during the majority of the year - throwing in additional 400 rooms of inventory into this "concept" will definitely have repercussions. TTR is already losing guests - people are booking GOV in this thread instead of TTR. We predict TTR will Hedgehog itself and go downmarket and revert back to its old pricing unless GOV taps out and reverts back to family friendly. GOV is a better property with a huge marketing department, TTR can not compete on amenities but only on price.
Some of us dont like the CO of Desire and still want a sexy vibe. TTR gets a little out of hand in March with too many drunk single guys. We agree that GOV might be worse off with singles, but then again it doesnt sound like it has a Paddy'os. and with a little bit of security or policing the out of control guys can be taken care of.
Thanks for the great report Steve answered all my questions and reconfirmed why we bought the TTR membership, we love the crazy party thats why we don't wait much more than three months between trips.
It could be possible to do a pick up from there somewhere down the line. It would depend on having enough demand and also if the hotel gave permission. I doubt they would. So, at least in the mid term anyone staying there who wanted to go on the cruise would need to get to the usual meet up point at Temptation.
