Ok, so I'm boring (???), but some people actually like the quiet pool to be, well, quiet! Time for a snooze, read a book, listen to, well nothing really. (I'm not talking about us BTW!). While it's a fun idea, it would be a great shame if the Chaos Crewe upset anyone and got a reputation for a group to be avoided. Horses for courses - let the Sexy Pool reign and leave the quiet pool for the old folk!(again - not us!!!) :daisy:
I believe it was either the great oratory spokesman Winston Churchill or Spock who said "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of a few" That being said I would never want to be a detriment of someones vacation as I would never want someone infringing on my good time. I don't think that we are too overtly rowdy, loud or obnoxious as to be infringing on whomever may be at the quiet pool but if we were it would be easy enough to pack it up and head back to the sexy pool. (p.s. I know you guys would be right there with us! :xyxthumbs
We enjoy taking it over at 5pm one day of our vacation with our group... I usually even get management in on it they put up with us for a couple hours of nudity and "quietness"
I love the idea but what I'd be afraid of is us all getting a bit rowdy after a few too many drinks and disturbing the people that are actually at the quiet pool for peace and quiet.
We have met MANY lifelong Canadian friends through TTR. We love CANADIAN'S !!!! You guys can ROCK anything!!!
Since we're new, you can take this with a grain of salt...or a spoonful of sugar if you'd rather - but I personally like the quietness of a quiet pool. I don't want my room to be the only place I have for escaping. I think hanging out in the quiet pool with a group is fun as long as we don't become obnoxious:angel1:. Would hate to be 'that group' that ruined the peace for those who weren't feeling the sexy pool that day. JM2C.
I say try it out and see how it works. We spent 90% of our first trip at the quiet pool because there was heating issues at the sexy pool (water was way too hot and made me feel ill). In my opinion, there's pros and cons of both options. I plan to be swimming at the quiet pool every morning for at least an hour (around 11am) as my form of exercise each day. I like the layout of the quiet pool – tons of free chairs, and the whirlpools are close to the bar area, so those sitting at the bar can also interact with those in the whirlpools. The drinks are a better quality too if you ask me. However, people should know beforehand that the quiet pool isn’t heated at all. For me, that’s not a problem, but I know others were struggling when the sexy pool wasn’t heated last year, and I guess that’s a deal breaker for some people if the sexy pool is heated this year. Re noise, I’ve never had a problem of complaints at the quiet pool before. Like I said, we spent a lot of our first trip here (with about 10 full days at the pool), and we sometimes attracted quite a crowd to sit with us. Even with bigger groups congregating at the quiet pool bar, nobody seemed to have a problem with that. Then again we weren’t doing anything particularly offensive, just drinking, laughing and chatting. There is a more relaxed atmosphere around the quiet pool though, and I think that as long as we respect that and don’t behave in a way that upsets this balance, we shouldn’t run into any problems. The quiet pool is more about drinking, great conversation and tame sort of fun, rather than the full-on sexy party atmosphere at the sexy pool (hence the name), so I guess the full-on party behaviour (whooping, shouting, sexy goings on etc) should really be kept for the sexy pool.
As with some others thinking it might be fun for an appearance but may not be good for a week. On the other hand, if the sexy pool is empty, We will be all in!
